openai发布会Agent infrastructure is rapidly becoming commoditized. Capabilities that once had to be built in-house — runtime environments, computer use, multi-agent orchestration, context management, event triggers, and cloud execution — are increasingly being packaged by OpenAI into standardized infrastructure. That means the competitive edge is likely to shift away from simply knowing how to build an agent. What will matter more is who owns the better data, has deeper domain expertise, designs the most valuable workflows, and can ultimately turn agents into real economic value. But to me, the bigger question is commercialization. Does OpenAI want to become the AWS of the AI era — providing the models, agent runtimes, and infrastructure that others build on — or does it also want to keep moving up the stack and absorb much of the SaaS layer built on top of that infrastructure? As OpenAI expands ChatGPT, Codex, Agents, Plugins, and enterprise workflows, more AI startups may eventually have to confront an uncomfortable question: Are you building a company, or just a feature that ChatGPT will eventually ship? As agent infrastructure becomes standardized, the scarce assets may no longer be the ability to build an agent at all. They may be proprietary data, distribution, domain know-how, deeply embedded workflows, and ultimately the ability to create sustainable commercial value. The technology is becoming standardized surprisingly fast. The real question is where the durable business moats will be. 🤔
