Douglas met a girl he knew,
Standing quietly in the queue.
In her bag, she had some eggs,
A box of figs and chicken legs,
A pack of burgers, tuna steaks,
Party snacks and chocolate cakes,
Pink ice cream, a box of dates,
Cans of drink and plastic plates.
Douglas looked. “oh,” said he,
“You’re having guests tonight, I see!”
The girl said: “Yes, that’s quite true.”
And then invited Douglas too.
