Sustainable Fishing

Seafood is respected all over the world as an important source of protein and healthy fats. In order to continue relying on the ocean as an important food source, we need to employ sustainable fishing practices. Some of these sustainable fishing practices are still used today. For example, people in Hawaii practice spear fishing. Modern spear fishing is practiced all over the world. Another way to prevent overfishing is to simply refrain from eating fish and other seafood. According to marine scientists, people need to take a break from eating seafood until we learn better how to maintain healthy fish and wildlife populations.
