Writing Section

In the writing section, you will answer 12 questions to demonstrate how well you can write in English. There are three types of tasks.

Build a Sentence

Move the words in the boxes to create grammatical sentences.

A clock will show you how much time you have to complete this task.

Write an Email

You will read some information and use the information to write an email.

You will have 7 minutes to write the email.

You have recently moved into a new apartment and are experiencing issues with the heating system. You need to contact the property manager, Ms. Green, to report the problem and request a repair.

Write an email to Ms. Green. In your email, do the following:

• Describe the issues you are experiencing with the heating system.

• Explain how these issues are affecting your daily life.

• Request a repair and ask for a timeline for when it will be fixed.

Others think that these investments should be directed to immediate social issues. What is your opinion on this?

I believe that investing in smart city technology is essential for the future. Smart technologies can improve the efficiency of city services, reduce energy consumption, and enhance the quality of life for residents. This long-term investment will ultimately benefit the city.

I think funds should be directed to immediate social issues including housing and education. While smart city technology might have its benefits in the long run, addressing urgent social needs will have a more immediate and significant impact on improving people's lives. We should prioritize solving these pressing issues first.
