ment patterns( broken chords, etc.) are by the transcriber.D ynamic and phrasing
marks are also editorial additions.A ll this is well within the boundarieso f stylistic
baroquep erformancep racticesw hich allowedt he performerc onsiderablela titudes.
One final suggestionfo r the player of today. Contrapuntalf orms and texturesa re
not incompatible with expressivein terpretation. Romantic sentimentalityi s, of
course,o ut of the question,b ut deepf eeling,e venp assiona re not.
