【范文】The Power of Smile
A smile has the power to transform not only our own mood, but also the atmosphere around us. I
remember a time when I was feeling down, but a simple smile from a friend brightened up my day. It made
me realize that even in the toughest moments, a smile can bring a glimmer of hope.
Smiling is like a universal language that connects us with others. It shows kindness, empathy, and
positive energy. It has the ability to uplift spirits, foster connections, and create a more pleasant and
harmonious world.
So, let’s embrace the power of smile. Let it be a constant reminder to see the good in life and share it
with those around us. A smile is a small act that can have a big impact.

官方参考范文:
I knocked on his door, sat down in his living room, and asked, “Can I adopt you as my
grandpa?” Bill stood frozen for a little while before a broad smile came across his face. Then I saw tears in
his eyes. He wrapped me in his arms and buried his face in my coat to hide his tears, his voice trembling,
“Of course, sweetheart! I’m so happy to be your grandpa!” Soon after, Bill printed out an adoption
certificate and hung it on the wall of “my” room. Gazing at the snow outside, Bill said to me excitedly, “It’s
time to learn how to drive a lawn tractor.”
The next morning, while learning to drive the lawn tractor with a snowplow, I accidentally plowed
down our chain-link fence. I was almost frightened to tears, but Bill just chuckled in his laid-back way and
comforted me, “Don’t worry, Grandson. I have already planned to change a fence.” We eventually replaced
it with a nice, tall wooden fence. My dad and Bill installed it together. What impressed me most was that
there was a door on the fence, which definitely strengthened our connection. Underneath, I knew that we
were a true family now.
写作范文一
I knocked on his door, sat down in his living room, and asked, “Can I adopt you as my grandpa?”
Bill's eyes widened in surprise for a moment, and then a warm smile spread across his face. He reached out
and patted my head gently. "Of course, you can, kiddo," he said in a soft voice. I could feel the happiness
bubbling up inside me. We talked about how much fun we would have together as a "grandpa-grandkid"
pair. Bill told me he was honored that I wanted him to be a part of my family in this way. From that day on,
our relationship seemed to grow even stronger. We spent more time together, sharing stories and laughing.
The next morning, while learning to drive the lawn tractor with a snowplow, I accidentally plowed
down our chain-link fence. I was so scared and worried that I had done something wrong. Bill came
running over, but instead of getting angry, he comforted me. He said accidents happen and it was a good
opportunity to learn how to fix things. Together, we worked to repair the fence. Bill taught me how to use
tools and be responsible for my actions. Through this experience, I not only learned practical skills but also
understood the importance of facing mistakes and taking responsibility. Our bond became even deeper as we
overcame this little mishap together, and I realized that having Bill as my "grandpa" was the best thing that
had happened to me.
写作范文二
I knocked on his door, sat down in his living room, and asked, “Can I adopt you as my grandpa?”
Bill was taken aback at first, but then his face lit up with a big smile. He hugged me and said, "I'd be
delighted to be your grandpa, my dear." We both felt a sense of joy and warmth filling the room. We spentthe next few hours chatting about all the things we would do together as a family. I told him about my
imaginary friends and he listened with interest, just as he always did. It felt like a dream come true to have a
"grandpa" like him.
The next morning, while learning to drive the lawn tractor with a snowplow, I accidentally plowed
down our chain-link fence. Panic set in, but Bill's calm voice reassured me. He said it was okay and that
we could fix it together. He showed me how to assess the damage and how to start the repair process. As we
worked on the fence, he told me stories about his own mistakes when he was young and how he learned
from them. I realized that this was not just about fixing a fence but about learning life lessons. With Bill's
guidance, I learned about patience, perseverance, and taking responsibility. Our relationship became more
meaningful through this experience, and I knew that our special bond would continue to grow stronger as we
faced more adventures together. I was grateful to have Bill in my life, not just as a neighbor but as my
beloved "grandpa."

be fine.
W: Well, that leaves Asia, South America and Europe. Oh, I almost forgot Australia. Are you
interested in seeing anything in particular? Historical monuments? Museums? Countryside?
People?
M: Monuments might be interesting, but museums are too boring. I’d like to see a little night life,
too. If I’m going to spend lots of money on a trip, I don’t want to be bored.
W: It sounds as if you would do as well to go to Europe — possibly to France, Spain or Italy.
There are excellent hotels, so many interesting sights to see and plenty of night clubs.
M: Well, you’ve convinced me. I’ll take a ticket to Paris. They say the night clubs are really
wonderful too.
(Text 10)
M: Do you know when and how bicycles began? Well, in the eighteenth century, cities became
larger and larger. And people moved from the countryside and small towns to the cities because
there was more work for them to do in the cities. On Sundays and holidays, they liked to
leave the cities and have a good time in the countryside. But not every family had a horse. So
people needed a simpler means of transportation, and inventors in many countries tried to solve
this problem.
Therefore, the first bicycle, which was very simple, appeared in 1790 in France. People called
it “the horse on wheels”, but it was difficult to ride and it also felt uncomfortable. Then in
1861, after many improvements being made, bicycles became a practical means of transportation.
And people liked bicycles, because they were not as expensive as horses, and better still, they
didn’t need to be fed. However, they could go anywhere and were easy to ride.
