B (2023 春·广东惠州·高三统考期末)Money Daniels spends several hours every week cleaning up cans and bottles in the rivers near his home with other teen environmentalists in Chattanooga, TN. Together, they have collected more than 1 ton of aluminum cans, nearly 1,000 cans a week for a year. In January, he co-founded a club called the Cleanup Kids with his best friend. The project’s mission: to encourage kids to pick up 1 million pounds of trash across the globe before the end of the year. Daniels says he first developed a passion for wildlife when he was 3. “As far back as I can remember, I’ve always loved animals,” Daniels says. Marine life especially interests him. When he began discovering trash on walks along the river with his family, he immediately thought of his favorite sea creatures. His mission now is saving the earth’s rivers, which he points out are even more polluted than the world’s oceans. “Eighty percent of the ocean’s trash comes from rivers,” he says. In 2019, he adopted the name Conservation Kid on Instagram, and started posting about things like how something as simple as a deserted face mask can entangle (缠住), choke, and kill turtles, birds, and fish. Mask waste has increased an estimated 9,000% since the pandemic(疫情) began. Although he mostly speaks to other teens, Daniels has found that adults are often persuaded by his argument that cleaning up, recycling, and ridding plastic ought to be a selfish act for humanity: when plastics break down, they can wind up in our drinking water. He has met with the 4 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!mayor of his city, and his experiences speaking with influential grownups has convinced him that adults can change their habits. But, in truth, the burden to save the planet has landed on children like him. “Kids may be a small percent of the population, but we’re 100% of the future,” he says. “And we can save the world.” 24.What led to the birth of Daniel’s project? A.The inspiration from his best friend. B.The goal to make a role model for kids. C.The concern for the ocean life. D.The idea of other teen environmentalists. 25.Which can be inferred from paragraph 3? A.The ocean’s trash has grown rapidly. B.The river pollution requires less attention. C.Many animals are infected in the pandemic. D.River waste contributes most to the ocean’s trash. 26.Which of the following can best describe Money Daniels? A.Optimistic and creative. B.Caring and responsible. C.Considerate and generous. D.Courageous and devoted. 27.What is the passage mainly about? A.Grownups’selfish behaviors for humanity. B.A teenager’s contributions to saving the waters. C.A youngster’s responsibility to protect the world. D.Teen environmentalists’ efforts to clean the oceans. C (2023·江苏南京·南京市第一中学校考模拟预测)Tesla’s self-driving cars have recently come under investigation as a report on crashes raises questions about their safety. Despite Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s claim that their Autopilot capability makes their cars “unequivocally (毫不含糊 地) safer,” data suggests otherwise. According to The Washington Post, the number of deaths and serious injuries associated with Tesla’s driver-assistance technology is higher than previously reported. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recorded 736 crashes since 2019, with at least17 of them being fatal. These figures include crashes involving both Autopilot, which allows cars to drive on highways without human intervention, and the newer Full Self-Driving feature, which extends automation to city streets. However, these statistics can’t record incidents that were avoided due tothe cars’ safety features. Additionally, when compared to the total number of car crashes that occurred last year, the number of crashes involving driver-assistance vehicles appears relatively small, but actually it’s not. Tesla’s safety claims lack context as Autopilot is primarily designed for highways, while most accidents occur in more complex environments with cross-traffic, pedestrians, and cyclists. Moreover, Tesla’s customer base consists mainly of wealthier individuals who live in communities with lower accident rates. Concerns are raised by Tesla’s request to the NHTSA not to reveal whether Autopilot or Full Self-Driving was in use during fatal crashes. This lack of transparency ( 透明) prevents a comprehensive analysis of the incidents and raises questions about responsibility. Safety exaggerations ( 夸大) combined with Tesla’s aggressive marketing have led to accidents caused by drivers relying too heavily on the system. Full Self-Driving does not allow the car to fully drive itself, and drivers are expected to remain attentive and ready to intervene at all times. However, Tesla’s messaging may mislead some users into believing otherwise. While a driverless future has the potential to be safer, it is crucial not to convince the public that underdeveloped capabilities are ready for widespread use. Tesla should address past problems, ensure their automation set can detect emergency vehicles, and be transparent with the public about the limitations of their technology. Rushing the implementation of such technology without addressing its limitations could lead to serious consequences on the road. 28.What can we learn about Tesla’s driver-assistance-related crashes from paragraph 2? A.736 fatal cases of self-driving are recorded. B.NHTSA focused on the crashes on highways. C.The total number of car crashes is extremely small. D.The incidents avoided are not counted in the crash statistics. 29.What can be inferred about Tesla’s safety claims? A.They are supported by comprehensive data. B.They are based on limited driving environment. C.They are restricted to the experiences of satisfied customers. D.They have been proven to be accurate and reliable by NHTSA. 30.What can we know about Full Self-Driving? A.It is ill-received. B.It is well-developed. C.It needs the driver to stay focused. D.It reduces the accidents greatly. 31.Which title best summarizes the content of this text? A.Concerns and Questions Surrounding Tesla’s “Self-Driving” Cars B.Tesla’s Self-Driving Cars: The Safest Option of Driving on the Road C.The Future of Self-Driving Cars: A Closer Look at Tesla’s Technology 6 原创精品资源学科网独家享有版权,侵权必究!D.Reconstruction and Revolution of Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving D (2023·湖南长沙·湖南师大附中校考一模)When you think about it, food is an important part of our lives. Family gatherings center around food and the celebration of major life events and milestones involves food in one way or another. The same holds true for us here on the Space Station. Food is important and ends up usually being a topic of discussion for almost every crew. The food that we have here on ISS has to meet many different requirements. What about variety? How do you meet all of the peculiarities of the people that you come across, especially when they are from different cultures? What about the logistics(物流)of getting the right food here at the right time? So there are a couple of different questions you have to consider when you talk about food and long-duration space flight. On the U.S. side we have gone to a standard menu, meaning that every 16 days you start over with the same menu. To compensate the crews, we are allowed to pick one“preference”container which consists of our pick of anything on the U. S. menu list. This allows us some variety in our menu, with the choices up to us. One of the desirable options for any crew is to make sure that enough tortillas(墨西哥玉米粉薄饼) get on board. You can do so much with a tortilla; it becomes the vehicle with which to eat almost anything. Our food also comes packaged in many ways. But no matter what the form of the food though, you still have the same problem eating it- - you do not want it flying away from you and making a mess when you open it up. In this case a little bit of extra water is extremely helpful. It keeps the food kind of sticking together and to the package and to your spoon. Small things do escape from time to time, but we really try hard to minimize the random flying food problem. That is enough for now! Next time I will write about how to cook in space. 32.Where is the text most probably taken from? A.A food magazine. B.An astronaut’s journal. C.A sci-fi handbook. D.A space history website. 33.What does the underlined word “peculiarities“ mean in paragraph 2? A.Ambitious targets. B.Similar requests. C.Unusual habits. D.Harsh conditions. 34.What is the author’ s purpose in mentioning tortillas? A.To illustrate the preference container . B.To give an example of standard menu. C.To advocate tortillas to the readers. D.To show the variety of food options. 35.What can be inferred about eating in space? A.Food packaging is optional. B.Sufficient water helps transport food. C.Flying food problem is unavoidable. D.Eating in space is easier than most imagine.第二节 (其5小题;每小题2分,满分10分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选 项。 (2023·河北沧州·校考三模)Helping Your Kids to Be Interested in Sports Being active and moving is something that is so important for us all, especially for children. 36 However, some parents can feel shocked when they see that their child isn’t interested in sports. So how can you encourage them to have ago? It is such a good idea to lead by example when you are a parent. This is true for a variety of aspects, but especially forgetting children involved in sport. 37 So you need to be someone who is interested and active, if you want any hope of them doing so too. If you lay on the couch all day then they will just learn to do that too. 38 Although they can choose who they want to support, seeing your enthusiasm for a particular player or team can be just what is needed to start their journey. You could look for a team uniform store to get them a sports shirt with their name on for example, as well as see the team play at one of their games. 39 If something is dull, it will be hard for children to be enthusiastic about it. This will make them resent(讨厌) it, which is not a good thing for later in life. If they show particular skill and learn to play sport, then more practice and training can come in. 40 When they can enjoy what they do, they will only see it as something fun to do, rather than what we as adults might see it as, such as a chore to burn calories. Whatever sport your child chooses to play, encourage them and make it fun, and then it will be something that they will want to carry on doing as they go about the rest of their lives. A.They won’t be interested in sports if you’re not. B.here are some other tips that you would share with them. C.Share your enthusiasm and it will help to lighten a passion. D.So think about ways that can get them to be active in the sports. E.How active a child is will impact their overall health and learning. F.Apart from leading by example, you could also share your favorite team.
