写作
Dear Alice,
I’m sorry to hear about your recent health struggles. It’s completely understandable to feel
frustrated when your body doesn’t seem to cooperate, so I’d like to offer some advice that might help.
Firstly, prioritize a balanced and nutritious diet. Make a conscious effort to include more fruits,
vegetables, and whole grains in your meals, as they are packed with essential vitamins and minerals
that help boost the immune system. Moreover, it is strongly recommended that you establish a
sustainable exercise routine, such as brisk walking, swimming, or cycling. Whatever activity you
choose, make sure to work out at least 30 minutes every day, which will not only build your
physical strength but also relieve stress and uplift your mood. Lat but not least, you’d better ensure
adequate and high-quality sleep. Only when you secure seven to eight hours of uninterrupted rest
each night can your body fully repair itself.
With patience and persistence, I believe you will regain health and energy in the near future!
Yours,
Li Hua

1.M: When will dinner be served?
W: A few minutes after take-off. But I can get you something to drink now if you like.
M: That’s very kind of you. I’d like a glass of water, please.
2.M: Hi Rosalie, did you hear about the fire drills next week?
W: Yeah. I can’t believe they scheduled ours during our lunch break. They need to reschedule our
lunch break, or change the fire drill time to 1-2 p.m.
3.M: I was just going through the sample we received from the printer.
W: Do you mean the Psychology 101 textbook that we will release on March 31st?
M: Right. But we have a problem. The chart on page 234 was printed upside down.
4.M: I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay with us.
W: Yes, it was lovely, but I had to pay £90. Last time I only paid £80.
M: Yes, I’m sorry, Madam. But that is actually a 10% discount off our normal price as you’re a
regular guest.
5.W: I don’t really understand why you called Professor Higgins. He has nothing to do with our
department and project.
M: Well, we wanted to understand what impact an invention like this would have on the
environment. And that’s his area of expertise.
6.M: You’ve been writing for a long time, but only just had a book published. How did that happen?
W: It was all by accident, really. My book sales were so slow that I was sure my publisher
regretted taking me on.M: What happened then?
W: I kept on with my usual schedule — I kept to a strict timetable every day — and then a TV
director wandered into a shop, saw my book lying there looking very lonely, and started
reading it. He was stuck for ideas for a new children’s TV play and thought my story could be
adapted to fit the requirements exactly. And that was it!
7.W: Hello. My name is Annabel Christiansen. I’m here to check in for the 5:40 p.m. flight to
London. I have my passport and ticket here.
M: I’m sorry. You’ve arrived too late, Ms. Christiansen. Check-in for that flight closed 20 minutes
ago. There won’t be enough time for you to reach the gate before takeoff.
W: Oh, no. I was worried this was going to happen, seeing as my taxi was stuck in a long line on
the way here. Are there any other flights today that I can take instead?
M: Yes, we still have seats available on the one that leaves at 10:30 p.m. For a $100 fee, I can
update your reservation and issue you another ticket.
8.W: Excuse me. We’re doing a survey on the free time habits of British people. Can I ask you a few
questions?
M: Sure.
W: Thanks. Right, first question. How often do you go to a bar or a pub?
M: Oh, not very often. I don’t drink, but I sometimes go with friends.
W: OK. Do you engage in any physical activities?
M: Yes, I go to the local swimming pool every other day.
W: And how often do you go to the theater?
M: Hardly ever. About once a year, perhaps.
W: OK. What about holidays?
M: I normally have two holidays a year. One in summer and one around Christmas. Sometimes I
visit my aunt. Usually I go somewhere in Asia, like Thailand, India. I seldom stay at home.
W: OK, that’s all. Thanks a lot.
9.M: Come in.
W: Thanks.
M: Right. We need to discuss some of the questions raised at the last meeting.
W: Yes, there were a lot of questions about computer systems and working hours.
M: We’ll talk about them later. What I’m very worried about at the moment, though, is how some
staff are working. I’m not happy with so long it takes to produce reports. Peter Jones, for
instance. The report on his visit to Paris was two weeks late. It’s not as though they’re long
reports—they should only take a short time to write.
W: I’ll certainly warn Peter about that, but I think it is, in fact, a question of staff training. We
need to do the training on time management.
M: I agree, but getting consultants in to do it costs money. It will be cheaper to use one of our own
staff. Have we got anyone who could do it?
W: Laura Williams has some management training experience.
10.Good morning, everyone, and welcome to the Starfield Sports Event at the Greenvale Stadium!
I’m Alan Martins, your host, excited to guide you through today’s amazing showdown of skills and
spirit.
Let’s focus on our stars of the day! The 100-meter race — our defending champion Michael
Thompson is preparing to face the lightning-fast Henry and the unstoppable Andre Gomez. Who will
grab the title in this year’s race? In gymnastics, all eyes are on Emily Harris. After her show-stopping
performance last year, we’re on the edge of our seats to see what she will show us today. Can she
outdo last year’s astonishing achievements? In the pool, witness history in the making with the
Springfield University team, aiming to break the national record in the swimming relays. Let’s give
them encouragement.
Our amazing sponsors — Speed Track Shoes, HydrateWell Drinks, and Victory Sports Gear —
have set up not-to-miss stands. They’re here with the latest sports tech and fitness equipment. As webegin today’s events, let’s take a moment to applaud our hard-working volunteers and the local
community, the true champions behind the scenes. Their dedication makes all this possible.
Here’s to an unforgettable day of sports magic!
