Word Today Reflection

First Reading (Acts 11:1-18)
Gospel (Jn 10:11-18)
Jesus says, “I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice.” His mission was never just for the Jews. His Heart forever reaches out: seeking, calling, gathering.
In the 1st Reading, this vision began to unfold. St. Peter, guided by the Holy Spirit, welcomes the Gentiles (non-Jews) to Christianity. The Good Shepherd is expanding His flock, not by force but by grace. The first pope learns that no one is excluded from God’s saving love.
The mission continued through the Church. From Jerusalem to Rome, then to the ends of the earth, Christ kept calling His sheep. Through missionaries, through witnesses, and above all through the Holy Eucharist, He fed and united His flock. The Church is not a closed circle but an ever-widening embrace.
The Good Shepherd still seeks “other sheep” today – those far, those lost, those doubting. Ask yourself: who are the other sheep in your life? Pray for them, welcome them, and help lead them gently to the Shepherd’s voice.
