On May 29, the Office of International Affairs and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department of the Tsinghua University Hospital jointly organized a health-themed event titled “Spleen-Strengthening". Nearly 40 participants took part, including staff from the Office of International Affairs, as well as Tsinghua’s international scholars and their family members.

The event was equipped with professional simultaneous interpretation equipment, providing real-time Chinese-English translation. With the help of interpretation services, international scholars and family members from various countries were able to follow the talks closely, delivered by doctors from the Traditional Chinese Medicine, Rehabilitation, Health Care, and Physical Examination departments. When the doctors demonstrated spleen-strengthening exercises, several international scholars eagerly joined in, practiced along, and exchanged observations with one another, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

During the one-on-one consultation session, international scholars actively raised questions about spinal and knee rehabilitation, and chronic disease management. The doctors, either through interpreters or directly in English, offered personalized advice on diet, daily routines, and lifestyle adjustments. Many international scholars said this was their first time getting a close look at the traditional Chinese health preservation, and they found it both practical and culturally fascinating. Quite a few international scholars and family members also asked whether similar events would be held in the future, expressing a strong desire to take part again.
The event promoted cross-cultural engagement, serving both community health needs and as a lively introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine culture for international participants.
