China and Peru Explore Ancient Civilizations

A new chapter in archaeology has begun. Chinese and Peruvian researchers will work together to study the ancient Caral civilization in Peru. It is the first time that Chinese archaeologists have started a joint project in South America.

The Caral civilization appeared on Peru's northern coast about 5,000 years ago. It lasted from around 3000 B.C. to 1800 B.C. and is known as the oldest civilization found in the Americas. During the project, scientists will visit ancient sites, carry out research, and protect cultural treasures. They will also share knowledge and train young archaeologists. By working together, China and Peru hope to uncover more secrets of this amazing ancient civilization.
