One possible version:
Dear Jack,
Learning that senior high school torch bearers for The 19th Asian Games are needed,I'm writing to
encourage you to sign up for it.
To begin with, your excellent physical and mental qualities are what make you qualified for the torch
relay. In addition, you have an advantage over others, considering your previous voluntary experience. As a
foreigner fluent in Chinese, your participation will practise the concept of international communication and
friendly cooperation. Therefore, what you transmit is not only a torch, but a responsibility and mission.
Your active involvement is what I expect. Hopefully you can enjoy the cheerful atmosphere of this
event.
Yours,
Li Hua

One possible version:
The little girl did what had longing to. She climbed up on the bed next to the great man. Tears ran
from both of their eyes and she drew her arms around the weak shoulders of her father. Her head on his
chest, many graceful memories crowded in her mind—the wonderful times they spent together and the
happiness she had always felt when protected and cherished by the great man. Tears were welling up in
her eyes when she recalled father’s past company and the simple yet warm words. She felt grief for the
loss she was to endure, the words of love that had comforted her. How she wished time could be turned
back. “I love you, Great Man,” the little girl murmured.
And then she heard from within the man, the beat of his heart. The heart where the music and the words
had always lived beat faster with her words. The heart beat on, steadily unconcerned about the damage to
the rest of the body. The little girl felt from the beating heart as if the once great man was eager to express
the long-time-no-heard word “ I love you.” Excitement rushed through her and the little girl stuck her
head closer on his chest. What she received was a clear, low and familiar voice, "I love you, little girl."
She heard what she had desired to hear. Enveloped by fragrant air, she felt as if she were in the
wonderland. Cheerful atmosphere filled in the house. The magic happened, and love could indeed create a
miracle.

听力录音稿
(Text 1)
M: I’m sorry but I’ve washed my hair and I want a … um … it’s something for drying hair.
W: Oh, you mean a hairdryer. You can borrow mine.
(Text 2)
W: Do you want to see that documentary about deep-sea creatures?
M: Sure. What time is it on? Eight in the evening?
W: No. It’s on at nine on Channel 5.
(Text 3)
W: Mr. Black, the building work is going on at the moment and there is a lot of noise. Some people say the
exams next week are going to be canceled.
M: Well, I’ve just come to let you know that all we’re doing is moving the exam room to the conference
center.
(Text 4)
M: Look, this painting in your living room should really be in an art gallery. I think it’s worth a lot of
money.
W: Oh, I drew it myself. I’ve never really thought of my work as great art.
(Text 5)
W: All the new products are performing very well this year.
M: I didn’t think things like video games would sell so well.
W: In fact sales of home entertainment products are rising the fastest.
(Text 6)
W: Hello, this is Joan Anderson. I’m calling about the job you advertised in the local newspaper for a sales
position at your computer store.
M: I’m sorry, but that position has been filled. However, we do have an opening for a marketing assistant
position.
W: That sounds great. What sort of person are you looking for?
M: No previous experience is necessary. If you are hired, we’ll give you special job training for two weeks.
If you’re interested, you can send us your application by email. We will give you a call after we review
your application.
(Text 7)
M: Can I help you?
W: Yeah, I’d like something like this, because it’s getting warm now. What do you think would be the best?
M: Let me see what we do have. How about the skirts over there?
W: They look nice.
M: We’ve got three colors, yellow, black and white.
W: I’m wearing a white blouse, so I’d like a black one to match it. May I try it on?
M: Of course. The dressing room is over there. Just near the cashier desk.

{#{QQABBQSEogAAAhAAAAgCQw0gCEOQkAACAIoGwBAIIAAAgBNABAA=}#}M: Hey, Janet. It is the fourth time I’ve seen you in the library this week. What are you busy with?
W: I’m here all the week round doing my paper. It’s quiet here so I don’t do much at home or in the
classroom. And it is nearly completed.
M: Let me have a look at it. Australian population in the year 2025. So in what way do you think the
Australian population will change in 2025?
W: Well, the major reason for population change is the change in birth and death rates. Over the past 150
years, the improvement on Australian health care has led to a drop in the death rate. So I think in the year
2025, the population in Australia will increase.
M: That makes sense. I know you must have done a lot of work on it.
W: Absolutely. I am sure it is a perfect paper.
(Text 9)
M: Good morning. It’s a pleasure to have Sabina with us today to tell us about the life of a professional
tennis player. So Sabina, how do you prepare for a competition?
W: Well, you must have a lot of physical skill, and you have to be physically ready and trained of course,
but for me, it’s more important to be mentally prepared.
M: What do you think about just before going on court?
W: I just think about what I’m going to do on the court, you know, the technique. I don’t think of the person
I’m playing against.
M: Does your strong body come just from playing tennis?
W: No, I work out as well and I eat really well. I eat a plant-based diet. No animal products like milk or
eggs. Believe it or not, I feel stronger since I cut off meat.
M: What will you do after tennis?
W: Well, I’ve been training and playing full-time since I was 18. So after tennis, I’ll be excited to see what
it’s like to have more free time.
M: Thank you and good luck at Wimbledon in two weeks.
(Text 10)
W: Well, we certainly have a busy day ahead of us, so let’s get started, shall we? You’ll find a map of the
museum with the papers I’ve just handed out. The museum is our first port of call, so let’s have a look at
the map now. The door on the right of the entrance hall leads into the Gift Shop and Ticket Center. If you
want to pick up a guidebook, you can approach the Information Desk on the right-hand side. Now, once
you come back into the entrance hall, the door on the opposite side to the Gift Shop leads into the Art
Gallery. There is a special exhibition there at the moment which is not to be missed. If you continue on
up the entrance hallway, that leads into the Main Exhibition Center. At the back left-hand side there are
some toilets. Beside the toilets, you’ll find the 3D Theater. I strongly recommend that you make time for
the 30-minute presentation in the theater. It is well worth a viewing. Running along the right-hand side of
the Main Exhibition Center is the Modern Art Studio. Here, not only can you view some of the most
famous works of the 20th century, but you can also listen to an interesting lecture by a local artist. So
that’s the art museum. Next on the schedule is the Zoo. It’s not what I’d call a highlight of the day, but it
would be a shame if we didn’t get to see it …
