【考情分析】
在读后续写过程中，沿用原文语言特点，围绕原文主旨大意，在续写部分中可以利用恰当的词语描
述人物来丰富续写的情节。对人物进行恰到好处的肖像描写能够生动地反映出人物的角色身份、社会地
位、性格特点、情感变化等，将人物栩栩如生地呈现在读者面前，让读者在阅读的过程中如见其人，提升
续写语篇的可读性。
【写作指导】
在进行外貌描写时，可以写对一个人的总体印象，也可以抓住人物重要的外貌特征或性格特点进行描
述。可以具体描述人物的五官、着装，外貌、体态、性格等对人物印象最深刻的点来进行描述和评价，可
以使人物形象栩栩如生，跃然纸上。

It was the day of the big cross-country run. Students from seven different primary schools in and around the
small town were warming up and walking the route（路线）through thick evergreen forest.
I looked around and finally spotted David, who was standing by himself off to the side by a fence. He was
small for ten years old. His usual big toothy smile was absent today. I walked over and asked him why he wasn't
with the other children. He hesitated and then said he had decided not to run.
What was wrong? He had worked so hard for this event!
I quickly searched the crowd for the school's coach and asked him what had happened. "I was afraid that kids
from other schools would laugh at him," he explained uncomfortably. "I gave him the choice to run or not, and let
him decide."
I bit back my frustration（懊恼）. I knew the coach meant well — he thought he was doing the right thing.
After making sure that David could run if he wanted, I turned to find him coming towards me, his small body
rocking from side to side as he swung his feet forward.
David had a brain disease which prevented him from walking or running like other children, but at school his
classmates thought of him as a regular kid. He always participated to the best of his ability in whatever they were
doing. That was why none of the children thought it unusual that David had decided to join the cross-country team.
It just took him longer — that’s all. David had not missed a single practice, and although he always finished his run
long after the other children, he did always finish. As a special education teacher at the school, I was familiar with
the challenges David faced and was proud of his strong determination.

On Monday, heart pounding, I walked through the park filled with women of all high-school girls practicing at
different diamonds. I waited a couple of minutes before approaching the coach, who seemed unhappy to see me. He
had just put together top athletes for his team, and didn’t want some old lady messing things up. He looked me
over, who had no mitt but wore an old T-shirt and gym shoes. However, I didn’t care.
That very first day was quite bitter. He had me run bases all night and never gave me a chance to bat or play
the field, with the attempt to make me shrink from difficulty. But he had no idea how determined I was. I still
showed up to play in the following Mondays, which clearly surprised him.
Finally, he gave in. During the last inning of the last game of the season, the coach told me to go to center
field. I had to borrow a mitt from a member of our team and used it to catch an impossibly high ball, winning the
game for us. Again, the coach looked surprised. It never hit him that I might be able to play.

Having left something in the classroom, I went inside to get it, and found Roy holding a wallet in his hand.

mom took all of the paintings and called Rick over so that they could talk about them. “Tell me, Rick. What are
these paintings about?”
“Well, the first painting is about how some of the kids show off their new clothes and pencil cases. The next
painting is about my teacher who keeps on telling me about how I’m doing things wrong. And the last painting is
about how one of my schoolmate’s father suggested that I change my attitude. All of them make me so angry.”
Rick’s mom, in a calm voice, took Rick by her side and told him: “Don’t you see it, Rick?” “See what?” Rick
asked. “You’re so angry at all of these things but not once did you try to understand why you’re getting so angry.
What have all these people done to you, really?” Mum explained.

As we trekked through the dense forests, taking in the natural wonders around us, we couldn’t help but feel a
sense of adventure coursing through our veins. The trail was rugged and uneven, but we persevered through the
challenging landscape.
Midway through our expedition, we stumbled upon a breathtaking waterfall, its glistening waters cascading
down the rocks in a quiet and peaceful melody. We sat down by the water’s edge, taking a moment to get lost in the
beauty of nature. The cool mist from the waterfall enveloped us, and we felt refreshed and energetic.
As the day wore on, we ventured deeper into the wilderness, eager to explore every corner of this natural
paradise. We were so absorbed in the beauty of nature that just didn't notice our way and it seemed that we could
not find the way back to the familiar part of the forest. Panicking, we scrambled to find our way back but the dense
vegetation and winding trails only served to confuse us further. We tried to remember any possible signs that might
lead us back, No sooner had we celebrated our return to the clear trails than something worse happened.

idea of playing baseball stuck in my head and wouldn’t go away. Finally, I got up my courage and signed up at the
recreation center. On the way home, I bought myself a mitt.
On Monday, heart pounding, I walked through the park filled with women of all ages practicing. It took me a
while to find my team. They were all high-school girls, seventeen and eighteen years old!
The coach was not at all happy to see me. He had put together top athletes for his team, and he didn’t want
some old lady messing things up.
That first day, he had me run bases. What that meant was I’d stand near home plate(本垒板)while one of the
