Not only can it help you make yourself more easily understood but it also makes you adjust to new environment as soon as possible. How do we put body language to good use? First and foremost, when communicating with others, you need to keep smile and maintain eye contact. This will show others that you are a good listener and in turn they will listen to you. What’s more, while listening to others, you need to nod your head from time to time to demonstrate that you’re paying attention. Last but not least, you’re encouraged to use gestures to express your thoughts. Hopefully, you can realize the importance of body language and the above-mentioned tips will go a long way towards your interaction with others. 67.One possible version: The sky started to become darker and I was very worried. I didn’t know what to do. I called out to my friends, but there was no reply. I tried to look for a way but none of the scenes seemed familiar. I walked for a few more minutes and I got tired and hungry so I gave up. I was horrified. Finally, I gave up and leaned on a tree to rest. As I was falling asleep, I heard a human voice. It was unbelievable, then I heard someone else. I screamed, “Help!” Actually, they were rescuers searching for me. My friends Jack and Liam told the guide that they found I was lost, and finally some rescuers were called to help. They led me back to the bus. Seeing me, my friends told me they were really worried. I apologized to them for leaving the group without telling them. Instead of feeling angry with me, they comforted me and helped me calm down to learn a good lesson from it. And I truly learned a good lesson from it-never leave your group members when you’re in a strange place. 听力原文 Text1:M: What’s the matter, madam? W: I have a toothache. Can I see a dentist today? M: Sorry, I’m afraid it’s not available today or tomorrow. But you can get a dental appointment the day aftertomorrow. W: OK, then please make it for me! Text2:W: Excuse me. I’m going to the City Museum. May I ask if there is a bus station? M: Er... There is no bus station nearby, but I’m walking to the subway station. Let me lead you the way if you don’t mind. W: Anyway, there’s partially no difference between the two options. Thanks. You’re a star! Text3:W: I love your new apartment. I would have preferred it to be closer to the city center, but it’s great how it overlooks all the clothes shops. M: Actually, the noise from those shops bothers me. It’s the modern cooking facilities in the kitchen that I love the most. Text4:W: Russell, can you believe it? A panda hugging her baby… so lifelike! Look, a lion is chasing a deer… M: You’re so into these glasses. Take it easy. This place has so many to offer. Come on! Let’s go to the AI robot section next. Text5:M: Excuse me, where is the Sunshine Gym, please? W: At the end of the street, you can see a six-story building, and the gym is on the fourth floor. It’s near the cinema. M: Thanks. Text6:M: I’m starving. What shall we cook for dinner? W: Well, I’m worn out after a day’s work. Let’s eat out. M: How about going to the nearby fast-food restaurant? I want to try their exercise bikes. W: What? Why are there exercise bikes in the restaurant? M: Oh, the restaurant has just installed some exercise bikes that are specially designed with a table at the front, which allows customers to exercise while they’re eating their meal. They can also charge their phones with the electricity generated by the bikes. W:OK, let’s go there. But I’ll just listen to some music to relax while eating. Text7:W: Hey, Johnny, I tried to reach you yesterday, but couldn’t get through. What happened? M: My phone was out of order. W: Did you crack your phone screen again by accident? I’ve told you to be careful. M: No, it wasn’t that. The battery was broken and wouldn’t charge. W: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. So what are you going to do about it? M: I’m going to buy a new one, as this one has been repaired too many times. W: I’ll go with you. Let’s have a lesson first. M: Okay. Text8:W: I love old buildings. They can be so interesting and I love their history. M: I agree, but I think modern buildings can be interesting too. In fact, I’m looking to be an architect after I leave university. I want people to fall in love with the buildings I design.W: It’s great that you know what you want to be. I’m still not sure. My dad wants me to be a lawyer, but my mom wants me to be a doctor. M: What do you want to be? W: I’m interested in something to do with growing plants, which is a bit different from what my parents are thinking. M: Hey! What about being a garden designer? Then, we could go into business together. I’ll design the buildings and you can design the gardens! W: Haha! What a great idea! Text9:M: Excuse me, can you tell me which shelf The Razor’s Edge is on? W: It is on the third shelf on your right. That shelf is devoted to British and American novels. M: Oh, thanks. I'll take it later. Can you recommend some best-selling novels to me? W: Er. . . I’ll recommend The Scarlet Letter and Great Expectations. Both of them are famous and sell well. M: OK. I’ll read them after finishing reading The Razor’s Edge. W: You can also look around and see if there are any other books you want to read. M: I will. W: And we have a special offer today. If you follow our official account, we’ll give you a 30% discount. M: Really? That’s easy. Okay, I’m done. I’m going to get the book first. W: Okay. Text10: M: Clara Barton was born on December 25, 1821. When the Civil War began in 1861, she heard of stories of wounded soldiers. She felt she needed to do something to help them, so she urged people to donate bandages and medicine and delivered these supplies to the battlefield. Clara didn’t stop helping when the war was over. She led a group to search for missing soldiers. This group also worked to identify soldiers killed or missing. After four years of this work, Clara moved to Switzerland, where she first learned about a group called the Red Cross. This group worked to help people who were suffering during times of war. In 1873 Clara returned to the United States. In 1881 she started an American branch of the Red Cross. She served as its first President for over 20 years. As the result of Clara’s hard work and leadership, the Red Cross grew. Today, it also helps people suffering as a result of earthquakes, fires, floods, and other disasters. Clara Barton died on April 12, 1912, but her great contribution, the American Red Cross lives on.
