Wildlife faces threats (威胁) from habitat destruction, pollution, and other human actions. Although protecting
wildlife may seem too hard at times, even small actions in your own neighborhood can help protect many different
animals. Here are some tips on how to protect wildlife through small actions.
☆Create wildlife friendly areas in your backyard.
When you are trying to make your garden more beautiful, you can choose plants that can provide food and
shelter for native wildlife. This will also help cut down on pollution.
☆Avoid harming the natural ecosystem in your area.
Some plants from other places can kill or harm native plants that provide food and shelter for wildlife.
☆Have a greener lifestyle.
By using less water and fewer fuels, you will be helping to protect the wildlife around you. Take buses or the
subway when you can, turn off electric devices when you’re not using them, take shorter showers, and keep your
room temperature at or below 68 Fahrenheit degrees during winter.
☆Buy products that are wildlife friendly.
Don’t buy products that are made from endangered animals. Keep in mind that some endangered animals are
killed by traps or hunters who are after wildlife within the same habitat.
☆Donate money or time to organizations that protect wildlife and their habitats.
You can give money to organizations or groups that protect wildlife species in your neighborhood.
1. What is one way to create wildlife-friendly areas in your backyard?
A. Avoiding any kind of gardening. B. Building large structures for animals.
C. Planting only species from foreign countries. D. Choosing plants that provide food for native wildlife.
2. How can you contribute to a greener lifestyle that also helps protect wildlife?
A. By taking longer showers.
第3页/共16页

C. By turning off electric devices when you aren’t using them.
D. By keeping room temperature above 68 Fahrenheit degrees during winter.
3. Why is it important not to buy products made from endangered animals?

One night, Pilar was in a deep sleep when she was woken by her cat Inti. Inti was meowing wildly outside
Pilar’s bedroom and throwing himself against the closed bedroom door. When Pilar opened her eyes, she saw that
her bedroom was filled with smoke. As she escaped from her house with Inti in her arms, she saw that a fire was
burning in her kitchen. Pilar could easily have lost her life, but Inti would not let that happen. Even though Inti
could have escaped from the house through a cat door, he wouldn’t leave Pilar.
Amazing as this story is, it is not as uncommon as you may think. Take the example of Charlotte Lee and her
horse, Thunder. One summer night, the whole family was asleep with the windows open. It was normally very quiet
where they lived. Suddenly, there was a loud noise Charlotte woke up from her sweet dream, and the noise
continued. Then she heard a horse running fast towards the house. The next thing she saw was Thunder standing
outside her window, neighing (嘶鸣) and shaking his head. She knew something was wrong. Charlotte quickly got
everyone out of the house before the earthquake hit. Thunder saved her life.
There are also stories of wild animals coming to the rescue of humans. One animal known to be a friend of
humans’ is the dolphin. Once, Todd Endris was surfing with his friends when he was attacked by a 13-foot (4-
meter) shark. In the middle of the attack, a group of dolphins came to his rescue by forming a protective ring
around Endris until he could get safely to shore. Without the help of the dolphins, there was little chance that Todd
could have escaped.
No one is sure why animals have so often come to our rescue. However, it is clear that humans and animals
enjoy a close relationship. It is important that we care for them as much as we can.
4. What did Inti do when he noticed the fire in Pilar’s house?
A. He ignored it and went to sleep. B. He escaped through the cat door.
C. He woke Pilar up. D. He tried to fight the fire.
.
5 How did Charlotte know that something was wrong during the night?
A. She felt an earthquake happening.
B. She noticed a strange light in the distance.
C. She heard a horse running out of the yard.

6. Who came to Todd Endris’s rescue when he was attacked by a shark?

A. They can come to our rescue. B. They are pretty and attractive.

About three decades ago, China was known as the “Bicycle Kingdom”. But later on, bikes were replaced by
their fuel-powered competitors.
But recent months have seen a recovery of the bike across China, with an increasing number of people
choosing cycling instead of driving to schools, or workplaces or to do sightseeing. The introduction of bike-sharing
schemes (计划), pioneered by start-ups like Ofo and Mobike, has brought the trend to a new level.
People can unlock the shared bikes by simply using their smartphones. The bikes are equipped with GPS and
can be left anywhere in public places for the next user. They’re popular among many Chinese people as they
provide an effective solution to the “last mile” problem, which refers to the final leg of a person’s journey.
“In places where the subway doesn’t extend, and where it’s difficult to change from one kind of transport to
another, it’s so easy to get where you want to go with Mobike,” Hu Hong, 29, told AFP. She rides to her Shanghai
real-estate job.
However, the schemes have also led to problems such as illegal parking, vandalism and theft. Last month,
two nurses in Beijing were placed under administrative punishment for five days for putting locks on two shared
bikes. And in December, a man who stole a shared bike was sentenced to a 3-month detention (拘留), and fined 1,
000 yuan by the Shanghai Minhang People’s Court.
“Bike sharing is a greener method of transportation and provides a user-friendly experience,” said Liu
Xiaoming, vice minister of transport. “But it’s a combination of online and offline business. Operators are usually
strong in online services, but lack offline business experience, which causes problems.”
Now, Chinese service operators are trying to solve the problems. For example, Mobike sets a 100-point credit
score for each user, with points taken in the case of bad behaviour. Once a score drops below 80, bike rental is
increased to 100 yuan per 30 minutes, up from 0. 5—1 yuan.
8. Who pioneered the bike-sharing schemes in China?
A. Some bicycle plants. B. Start-ups like Ofo and Mobike.
C. The government agencies. D. Some Universities.

10. What does the underlined word “vandalism” in paragraph 5 mean?
A. The act of selling something. B. The act of damaging something.
C. The act of repairing something. D. The act of sharing something.
11. What measure has been taken to solve the problems with bike sharing?
A. Stopping running the bike sharing system for some time.

Over a decade ago, the science fiction series Black Mirror showed a story about using artificial
intelligence(AI) to bring back loved ones. Thanks to technological advancement, the latest AI technology brings
hope of recreating loved ones through virtual form.
Recently, it was reported that well-known musician Tino Bao had created a digital version of his daughter,
who in 2021 passed away due to a rare disease at the age of 22. With the help of Xiaoice, Microsoft Asia’s AI
branch based in China. Bao was able to recreate his daughter Bao Rong as an AI-powered virtual figure. Tino Bao,
his family and the team made a great effort to piece together pictures, audio-visual recordings, and memories of
Rong. After thousands of trials and errors, they presented the life-like digital human who speaks in both Chinese
and English. Bao has finally launched a company to bring the technological miracle to other families experiencing
such loss.
However, this technological achievement has also been accompanied by many discussions and arguments. The
idea of bringing back a loved one through AI may seem comforting. Still, researchers warned that constantly
interacting (互动) with an AI version of a deceased (已故的) loved one could potentially affect the natural sad
process, leaving individuals stuck in a state of denial (否认). This could lead to lasting sadness and other mental
health issues. Furthermore, there’s a risk that people may become too dependent on the technology, preferring their
interactions with the AI version to forming new, real-life relationships.
With the case of Bao Rong out in the open, AI resurrection (复活) has become a business. From simple
“talking pictures” that sound nothing like the loved ones to videos of actors speaking with the faces of those who
passed away, the lower end of the market is more “artificial” than “intelligent”. Therefore, it is necessary to
establish proper regulations and ethical standards to ensure that the use of AI-resurrection technology is safe and

D. The science fiction series Black Mirror’s influence on AI technology.
13. How was Tino Bao able to create a digital version of his daughter?
A. With the help of Xiaoice. B. With the help of a time machine.
C. By using advanced medical technology. D. By collecting DNA samples from his daughter.
14. What is an effect of constantly interacting with an AI version of a deceased loved one?
A. An increasing sense of relaxation. B. Stronger family bonds and relationships.
C. Improved mental health and faster healing. D. Lasting sadness and other mental health issues.
15. Why is it important to establish proper regulations for AI resurrection technology?
A. To guarantee the safety and appropriate use of the technology.
B. To ensure the technology is affordable and accessible to all.

When I was eight or nine years old, I wrote my first poem. My mother read the little poem and began to cry.
“David, did you really write this beautiful poem? I think it’s wonderful!” my mother poured out her praise. I felt
pleased and proud. “What time will Father be home?” I asked. I could hardly wait to show him what I had
accomplished. My mother said she hoped he would be home around seven. I spent the best part of that afternoon
preparing for his arrival. First, I wrote the poem out in my finest flourish (花体字). Then I used coloured crayons to
draw a beautiful border around it that would fit in with its brilliant content. Then I waited. As 7 o’clock drew near, I
confidently placed it right beside my father’s plate on the dining-room table.
But my father did not return at seven. I always admired my father. He was head of Paramount Studios in
Hollywood but he had begun his motion picture career as a writer. He would be able to appreciate this wonderful

That evening it was almost 8 o’clock when my father came back. He was an hour late for dinner. He seemed
annoyed. He did not sit down but circled the long dining-room table with a drink in his hand, complaining about his
employees (员工).
Suddenly, he paused and stared at the paper beside his plate. There was a stressful silence. “What is this?” He
was reaching for my poem. I lowered my head and stared down into my plate. I was full of anxious daydreams.
How wonderful it would be if this very first work of mine drove away the angry clouds that now darkened my
important father’s face.
“Ben, a wonderful thing has happened,” my mother began. “David has written his first poem! And it’s
beautiful,”
“If you don’t mind, I’d like to decide for myself,” Father said.
I kept my face lowered to my plate as he read that poem. It couldn’t have taken very long to read that poem. It
had only ten lines, but it seemed to take hours for him to read it. I could hear him dropping the poem back on the
table.

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(满分15分)
【46题答案】
【答案】Dear Editor
I’m a student from a senior high school in Dunhuang. I’m writing to express my great concern about the
environment in my hometown. Thick forests and green grass used to be seen in lots of places in my hometown
However, as people here often cut down many trees to build houses and grow more crops, the forests have been
seriously damaged or completely destroyed. Besides, because of climate change, it rains less now. As a result,
sandstorms occur frequently. To prevent the process of desertification, all the people should take good care of the
forests and plant more trees.
Hopefully, every one can join hand in hand to protect the environment.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

fist. I couldn’t stand it another second. I ran from the dining room up to my room, threw myself on the bed and

A few years later, I took a second look at my first poem, and I had to agree with my father’s judgment. It was a
pretty terrible poem. As I read and appreciated more poems, it became clearer and clearer to me how fortunate I had
been. I had a mother who said, “David, did you really write this beautiful poem? I think it’s wonderful!” and a
father who shook his head and drove me to tears with “I think it’s terrible.” In fact, every one of us in life needs that
mother force and father force. Between the two roles of praise and doubt, both in the name of love, we try to follow
our true course.
