The General Idea of This Period:
This period is to help the Ss to elevate their acquisition about the Olympic Games
and their ability of employing the expressions and grammar learned in this unit.

Activities and Research:
Research on Beijing’s preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games.
In order to hold the best Olympic Games in the Olympic history in 2008 in Beijing,
Beijing has made lot of preparations.You will do some research on Beijing’s preparations
for the 2008 Olympic Games.
1.You will be divided into six groups.Each group will cooperate with your group
mates to do some research on one of the topics to find as much as possible information
and pictures by reading books,surfing the Internet or even doing an interview.
Topics about Beijing’s preparations for the 2008 Olympic Games are as follows:
(1)Environmental protection and forestation
(2)Gymnasiums and stadiums
(3)Traffic (e.g. buses and cars)
