不同的国家，共同的历史

Many countries in the world are closely linked to one another through history and culture.
世界上许多国家通过历史和文化紧密联系在一起。

The United Kingdom is an interesting example.
英国就是一个有趣的例子。

It is made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
它由英格兰、苏格兰、威尔士和北爱尔兰组成。

These four parts share some traditions as well as a common history.

In the past, some regions tried to break away from the countries they belonged to.

Today, the four parts of the UK share the same currency and cooperate in areas such as military defence.

Many people travel between these regions and visit nearby cities.
