Never Use Iron or Aluminum Pots for Herbal Medicine

Many people in China drink herbal medicine. It is made by boiling dried plants in water. On October 23, a report taught people how to boil it well. The report came from a hospital in Guangxi. Doctor Huang Quanfang is a senior pharmacist there. She shared some useful advice.

Never use an ironpot or an aluminum pot. These metals react with the herbs. The medicine may change color and lose its power. A clay pot is a much better choice. It is safe and heats slowly. Before boiling, soak the herbs in cold water for half an hour. This helps the good parts come out.

Germany's president will visit China soon. His name is Frank-Walter Steinmeier. China's Foreign Ministry made the announcement on October 23. The state visit will last from October 27 to October 31. President Xi Jinping will hold talks with him. Two other Chinese leaders will also meet him.

Steinmeier came to China about eight years ago. He is an old friend of the Chinese people. China and Germany have been friends for fifty-four years. During the trip, the president will also visit Anhui Province. The two countries will talk about friendship and cooperation. Many people hope the visit will bring them closer.

On October 23, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridgecelebrated its eighth birthday. The bridge opened in 2018. It crosses the sea and connects Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao. Every day, thousands of cars run on it. Today it is one of the busiest crossings in the Greater Bay Area.

Over eight years, more than 125 milliontravelers have crossed the bridge. That is a huge number! This year, about 25.5 million people used it, 2.5 times more than in 2019. Many people from Hong Kong and Macao now drive north to shop, work and live. For them, the cities are just one hour away. The bridge has truly changed their daily life.
