District Education Office Praised Ramu NiCo for Educational Uplifting

The Usino-Bundi & Gama District Education Program Manager has commended Ramu NiCo for its continuous commitment to supporting educational development and improving learning infrastructure in the district.

The acknowledgment comes following the continuous support in the opening of new teaching & learning infrastructure in the District. This included a new teachers’ house at Iguruwe Primary School opened on the 1st of September 2026, a double classroom at Enakuai Village on the 7th of September 2026, and another double classroom at Kouye Primary School on the 02nd of October 2026, all in Madang Province.

Usino Bundi & Gama District Education Program Manager Mr. Jeffery Lemeck announced this during the recent opening of the Double Classroom at Enakuai Primary School that the District Education Office salutes the Ramu Nickel and Cobalt Project and its Project Landowners for considering education as a vital asset in the district's development. 

“Ramu NiCo’s contribution to building and improving essential educational facilities demonstrates the company’s commitment to community development and service delivery, particularly in areas where government resources and services may not adequately reach”, Mr. Lemeck said. 

He said education remains one of the most valuable assets for national development and prosperity, emphasising that education is the foundation to build and alter a nation’s future.

“If Ramu NiCo overlooks education programs in Usino, Bundi, and Gama District, then the future for all the younger generations along the project corridor will be affected. Therefore, I salute Ramu NiCo and its Project Landowners, especially from Kurumbukari LOA and Inland Pipeline LOA, for considering education as the first priority in their budgets and program rollouts,” he said.

The Usino Bundi & Gama District Education Program Manager acknowledged Ramu NiCo for stepping in to support schools and communities through the construction of essential facilities providing a more stable learning environment for teaching and learning in the district. 

Ramu NiCo’s Community Affairs Office also thanked and appreciated its Kurumbukari LOA and its Inland Land Pipeline LOA for identifying education as the priority program in the district to assist in the development of Madang Province and PNG as a whole. 

Through its community development initiatives, Ramu NiCo continues to support projects aimed at improving basic services and creating opportunities for people in its host and surrounding communities to strive and be better citizens in the future after the lifespan of the mine.
