第一节 应用文写作(满分15分)
Dear club manager,
I’m writing to contribute a suggestion for the upcoming “Read Together”
initiative.
The book I recommend is “The Old Man and the Sea” by Ernest Hemingway. It
tells the story of an old fisherman named Santiago who has not caught a fish for 84
days. With tremendous efforts, he catches a marlin. However, on his way back, sharks
attack, leaving himnothing but itsskeleton.
I recommend it for its powerful theme of perseverance. I’m deeply moved by
Santiago’s determination during the struggle to catch the marlin. He is a hero, weak in
body but tough in mind. The story inspires us never to give up, however difficult the
circumstances maybe.
Thankyou for considering my suggestion.
Yours,
LiHua

第二节 读后续写 (满分25分)
The competition started. Sophie was first. She cleared the first obstacle easily.
Caroline was next. First obstacle, change of direction. “We are doing fine!” she
thought. Then there was a sharp turn, then two wide jumps. Blossom was flying but
suddenly something was wrong. From the corner of her eyes she saw Sophie was on
the ground, all dirty. But she had to go. A few moments later she finished the round!
Yes,she was thewinner at last!
“But how could Sophie fall off the horseback?” Caroline wondered. “Sophie, are
you alright? What happened?” “I’m fine and happy.” Sophie said to her friend. “Now
you win and you can keepApplewind.” “But I only won because you accidentally fell
off.” By saying so, something suddenly occurred to Caroline. “Sophie! You did this
for me?” Sophie grinned. In tears, Caroline gave her friend and rival a long hug.
“Let’s go for anotherride tomorrow! And this timeI’ll beat you.”The girls laughed.

M: Last Saturday afternoon, four couples fromStonehouse called the police and
said their children were missing. After two hours’ searching, the police found the
four missingchildren near Glasgow, only a few yards away from their school.
They were found in the underground room of an empty building directly
across the street from where one of the children lives. Although they were tired,
they were quitewell. It seems that thefour children were playing in the room and
somehow managed to lock themselves in.Twenty policemen joined in the search,
but none of them looked in the underground room because they thought it was
impossiblefor the children to get in there. It wasn’t until Captain William and
Officer Black discovered some light from the room that the four children were
letout one by one.The four couples were extremely pleased that theirchildren were
safe.
