He was smiling and waving as he fired, authorities and witnesses said. He apparently killed himself after exchanging gunfire with police. This was the country’s worst school shooting since the Columbine incident in 1999. One student said her classmates pleaded(恳求) with the gunman to stop shooting. “You could hear a girl saying, ‘No, Jeff, quit, quit. Leave me alone. What are you doing?’” student Sondra Hegstrom said, using the name of the suspected shooter. Before the shootings at Red Lake High School, the suspect’s grandparents were shot in their home. They died later. The gunman’s motive was not known. In addition to the shooter, the death toll at the school included five students, a teacher and a security guard, Federal Bureau Investigation spokesman Paul McCabe said in Minneapolis. Fourteen to 15 other students were injured, McCabe said. After he shot a security guard, the gunman walked down the hallway shooting, and went into a classroom where he shot a teacher and more students, the witness said. All of the dead students were found in the classroom. One of them was a boy believed to be the shooter, McCabe said. He would not comment on reports that the boy shot himself and said it was too early to establish a motive. 24. Who was the gunman? A. A student. B. A teacher. C. A security guard. D. A worker. 25. What can be inferred about the Columbine incident compared with the one reported in this passage? A. There were fewer people killed. B. There were more people killed. C. A. d-b-a-e-c B. d-e-b-a-c C. d-b-e-c-a D. d-b-e-a-c C Childhood is all about the slow expansion of your world, from birth when you are quite clearly the centre of the universe, through the great shock of realising, when you are about three, that you are not actually kings and queens, that there is a whole world beyond the kitchen table and the bedtime story. It’s entirely up to you to let your children know that, while they may be blessed with a loving home, a warm bed, plenty to eat, many people are not. My oldest son, Sam, is six now and a lovely boy, thoughtful and concerned about the world, kind to his brothers and in love with nature, insects and animals. I get nervous at the fact that it is my responsibility to make him aware of the dark side of life — war, starvation, environmental disasters — part of me wants to preserve his innocence, but most of me thinks he needs to know and I should be the one to tell him. We’ve talked a little bit, about climate change, but I find it hard to be really honest with him. I sat down with him recently, to read something that Green Books sent to me, called How to Turn Your Parents Green. I thought a light-hearted book might be an easy way to talk to him about what he’s going to have to deal with.I asked him if he knew about climate change and he said no and then yes. I asked him if he knew what was causing it and he said: “It’s because there are more and more cars on the roads. Maybe too many planes too. Maybe trains as well, but only a little bit.” He likes trains. I said it was because we had too many lights on too — he jumped up and turned off the light straight away. “What do you think it means?” I asked him. “I don’t know. Is the world getting hotter? What will happen?” he asked. “Well, some people’s homes may get covered in water, and other people may not have enough food,” I said. “There might be some big storms and hurricanes.” He was quiet and thoughtful, and I couldn’t bear to push it any further. We did some colouring instead. But later that afternoon, he came back to me and put his hand in my back pocket. “I didn’t like that book, Mum. It made me feel really worried,” he said. I still feel upset thinking about it now. 28. What is the first paragraph mainly about? A. Slow development of a child’s intelligence. B. Better understanding of the things around a child. C. Natural response to what happens around a child. D. Gradual process of a child knowing more about the world. 29. How does the author feel before telling her son about the dark side of life? A. Very sorry. B. Quite pleased. C. A little hesitant. D. Quite confident. 30. Why did Sam jump up and turn off the light? A. He hated to talk about lights. B. His mother told him to do so. C. Lights would cause climate change. D. He wanted to save electricity for trains. 31. Why did the author do some colouring with her son? A. To make him less upset. B. To take a short break with him. C. To give him some time to think. D. To develop his interest in colouring. D Flight security rules are changing almost daily; however, there have been two main changes which seem likely to remain. The first change is that international passengers flying to the USA are getting a pat-down at the gate. In some places this is being taken very seriously with a thorough check, but in many places the checks are cursory(粗略的) as people don’t think it contributes much to safety. The second change is that the USA is increasing the number of air marshals(空警) on flights to, from and within their country. Action by passengers, whether security personnel or other flyers, is now seen as the most effective improvement in flight security since 9/11. But it is likely that moves announced in 2010 to remove the liquids carry-on restrictions will be quietly dropped for political reasons. No matter how well prepared a traveler is before a trip, there is a chance that security rules will change at the last minute or during travel. For example, for three days over Christmas last year those flying from other countries to the USA were not allowed out of their seats for the last hour of the flight. Some people flying in August found they were unable to carry on any bags after the liquid bomb attempt. There are things passengers can do to save trouble:  Before heading to the airport, check the rules posted on the airline’s website.  Reduce the amount of baggage being carried on board, and especially the items in your pockets. Fewer items mean it’s easier to pass through security-quicker bag checks, less time needed to empty pockets at the metal detector. Allow more time between connecting flights and before departure.  If you’ll have trouble standing in a queue for an extended period of time then arrange with your airline in advance for wheelchair assistance.  Pick the fast-moving security lines — normally the ones filled with business travelers move fastest. 32. Why do many US airports pay little attention to the pat-down for international passengers? A. It takes too much time. B. It needs to be improved. C. It is considered to be dangerous. D. It is considered to be of little value. 33. What can we learn about the changes to flight security rules? A. They are often unexpected. B. They are often unnecessary. C. They are not always effective. D. They are the same everywhere. 34. How can you pass through airport security more quickly? A. By taking connecting flights. B. By choosing the right line to wait. C. By asking for wheelchair assistance. D. By emptying pockets at the metal detector. 35. What does the text focus on about flight security? A. Security rules and how to follow them. B. Security measures and requirements. C. Security changes and tips for flyers. D. Security systems and effects of them. 第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 On October 8, 2019, I was riding my bike home from my office along Boston Post Road when I was run over by a truck and got badly injured. Fortunately, the doctors kept me alive. 36 In the early stages of my recovery, a nurse came into my room one day and said, “You should give yourself a goal for each day, no matter how small it is. Just getting wound care will be your goal today. That should be enough.” At once I understood. I needed to give myself credit for accomplishing even the smallest goals, like rolling over in bed, or swallowing a bite of food. 37 A week later, when the nurse showed up again and said, “It’s time to try walking.” I was ready. I took just a few steps, but that was my goal that day. 38 As I was getting better, my husband suggested I visit some patients who needed to be given comfort. There was a young man my husband kept talking about, a musician who’d been paralyzed(瘫痪) in a car accident. My husband wheeled me over to his room. The guy couldn’t even speak. I took his hand, and the two of us just stared at each other. Then his mom said he’d like us to hear the music he’d been working on. It was on his iPad. So we listened in admiration. 39 Yet it was everything to the young man. The pain is still a major part of my life, and I’ve learned to accept it as my new normal. I monitor my blood pressure while exercising and put cream over my injured areas to protect the skin. Most of all, I take steps to lower my stress — sleeping more, eating right, and playing a lot. 40 I’m too busy being the woman I am today. A. That was all we could do. B. Those were great achievements. C. I’ll never be the person I was, but that’s okay. D. And I always attempted to gain more of what I wanted. E. Meanwhile, I also learned valuable lessons from this experience. F. I learned to do my bit for others even when I needed help myself. G. I discovered that music has the psychological effect of reducing pain. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分)阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 People usually pay a lot of attention to Intelligence Quotient, or IQ. They raise further questions about the past atmosphere of Mars and scientists ultimately want to know whether or not it was 57 (suit) for life. Images taken by the European Space Agency’s Mars Express satellite show the marks that 58 ancient network of rivers left on the 59 (planet) surface. The valleys formed as they would on earth, 60 a strong flow of water carving its way through the landscape. 61 is less clear is where the water came from. Due to a lack of knowledge about the past climate of Mars, scientists cannot tell whether it came from melting glaciers(冰川), groundwater 62 something unheard of, though some researchers are doubtful whether liquid water was responsible for the marks 63 (see) by the satellite. They say other materials such as sand or dust can flow like a liquid and produce similar results. Mars formed more than 4.5 billion years ago and there is no liquid water on the surface of it today. But scientists generally believe it 64 (go) through an early wet and warm era that ended after 1.5 billion to 2.5 billion years, 65 (leave) the planet extremely dry and cold. Survey Report on Extracurricular Activities 第二节(满分25分) 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Sticking to a Dream Last fall I sent 200 letters to businesses, doctors and friends asking for sponsorship(赞助) so I could attend the National Youth Leadership Forum(论坛) on Medicine. “I don’t think anyone is going to send you money, Jessica, people just aren’t that kind,” said my mother. I was shocked by such a comment. “But you’re wrong. People are kind, and they will be generous enough to send me money,” I argued. Everyone doubted my efforts and I heard every excuse why people would be too busy to help me. “These people don’t even know you. Do you honestly think a stranger will send you money?” asked my friends. “Why put yourself through all this disappointment. Just forget it,” said my grandfather. I decided not to listen. The best thing I could do was attend the Forum and learn more about my future career. I waited a few days for my first response, which came from a bank. “Dear Jessica,” it read. “At this time our bank does not offer aid to students, but we wish you luck and success in your project.” My heart sank. I was rejected. I t’s only one rejection, I thought. Cheer up. You will receive a letter with a check for some money in it. I rushed home from school every day the next two weeks. As soon as I was in the door, I yelled, “Any mail for me?” I usually heard, “No mail, Jessica.” With the deadline approaching, I still received no money. I was getting a little worried. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 But one day, I came home and heard five beautiful words, “Jessica, you have one letter.”I have learned two important lessons from this experience.2022-2023-1 师大附中高三上入学考试 (参考答案) 第一部分 听力 略 第二部分 阅读 第一节 短文理解 21—23 BBD 24—27 ABAD 28—31 DCCA 32—35 DABC 第二节 七选五 36—40 EBFAC 第三部分 语言运用 第一节 完形填空 41—45 CDBAB 46—50 CDDAB 51—55 CABAD 第二节 语法填空 56. discoveries 57. suitable 58. an 59. planet’s 60. with 61. In this survey, one thousand senior middle school students from ten schools in Hunan Province were interviewed. They were asked what activities they liked doing most in their spare time. The survey shows that more than half of the students like to watch TV or videos, and twenty-six percent of the students are most interested in electronic or computer games. However, the number of the students who enjoy doing sports doubles that of those who prefer reading indoors. In my opinion, since the addiction to watching TV or videos or playing computer games is likely to do harm to children's health, parents should be responsible for limiting the children's time spent on passive leisure activities. In addition, more emphasis should be attached to activities that can encourage children to build up physical health. 第二节 But one day, I came home and heard five beautiful words, “Jessica, you have one letter.” I opened the envelope to find that it had a check for $100. My faith was restored, and my hopes skyrocketed. I was $100 richer! I jumped around the room, hugging and kissing my parents. Some people really cared. The cash flow didn’t stop there. I ended up with nearly half the tuition and was able to pay the rest myself to attend the Forum. I have learned two important lessons from this experience. For one thing, I learned that rejection is part of life and I’ll always have to deal with it. I received much more rejections than letters with checks, but it didn’t bother me. For another, I have the strength to persist. As the saying goes, “If a man has perseverance, a stone mountain will collapse.”. If I didn’t persist, I wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend the forum. 下载最新免费模拟卷,到公众号:一枚试卷君下载最新免费模拟卷,到公众号:一枚试卷君
