team in the future.

To most people, traveling by train is simply a way to get from one place to another. Whether it’s to visit
family during the holidays or just a way to get to school or work, taking a train is usually no more exciting than
riding a bike. In fact, the train itself can be part of the fun.
On March 28, 2021 China’s first panda – themed tourist train left Chengdu in Sichuan for Zunyi in Guizhou.
It soon became the talk of China with its special design and comfortable service.
Its inside and outside are covered with panda pictures. Attendants (乘务员) carry panda toys and passengers
can try panda-shaped food, as well as Sichuan snacks. Some people call it a “mobile star hotel” because it has a
bar, a karaoke room and a dance hall. Passengers can take showers and use its 5G network as well.
In the fast-paced times we live, train travel is a good way to slow down. It gives you times and space to read,
sleep, chat with friends, or simply do nothing but watch outside.
Sheng Yawei, 26, once took the longest railway in the world – the Trans-Siberian Railway. Running from
Moscow to Vladivostok, it takes six days. “It was like a time travel experience. Since the route covers eight
times zones (时区), I saw my watch go back suddenly,” Sheng said, “The rivers, forests, mountains, and the
countryside along the way made me feel peaceful.”
Train travel is also filled with surprises. You might meet new people. Sheng met a Russian college studentand they became friends. “I also met a cute boy who gave me many snacks. Though we didn’t understand each
other’s language, it made me feel nice.” Sheng said.

Taking your dog for a walk can be fun to do. But it can also be dangerous to others. According to the World
Health Organization, over 10 million people in China are bitten by dogs every year
People in Beijing and Shanghai are already asked to keep their dogs on a leash (绳子). A similar law will
soon be carried out across the country, which will come into effect (生效) on May 1st.
The law helps to stay away from rabies (狂犬病). The rabies virus is mainly carried by dogs. The law makes
it clear that anyone who keeps dogs must regularly vaccinate (定期接种疫苗) them. Those who walk their dogs
outdoors must keep their dogs on a leash so that they won’t hurt people. Those who don’t follow the law will face
a fine for less than 2,000 yuan.
Many other diseases can also spread between animals and humans. According to experts, 70% of animal
diseases can be passed on to humans. You must follow these rules if you want to have a dog in China.
◆ Get a license to keep a dog. It’s like getting a license for driving a car.
◆ Don’t take your dog to indoor public spaces, including markets, stores, schools and theaters.
◆ Vaccinate your dog on time.
◆ Use a leash when walking your dog.
◆ Clean up your dog’s waste.
66. What must people in Beijing and Shanghai do when they walk dogs?67. When will the new law come into effect?
68. What will happen if people break the new law?
