Many people like listening to music, doing sports and travelling. But I like collecting things when I
am free. I have two footballs, ten model planes and six table tennis bats. But most of all I like
collecting stamps. I have at least one hundred stamps. Most of them are from Japan. Some are from the
UK and the USA. Collecting stamps is interesting because each stamp has a story. By collecting stamps,
I have made lots of new friends. We often enjoy stamps and share stories together.

Most people always like buying things, for example, stamps, clothes, books, pictures and so on. Butmy friend Mr. Brown has a special hobby. He likes buying and collecting clocks. He has three hundred
clocks now.
There are clocks everywhere in his house. You can see shelves stand in every room. All the
shelves are full of clocks. Mr. Brown likes to do it very much, but his wife doesn’t enjoy it at all. She
has to clean each clock every day, and it’s very difficult to do so. She is also angry at the noise. Each
clock keeps its own time. So she can hear clocks striking almost anytime during the day and the night.
She can not almost sleep well at night. She says, “The trouble is that I never know the real time,
though I have so many clocks around.” Isn’t that interesting?
