语用色彩：faintly derogatory。这是一个略带贬义的词。它不像“愚蠢”那么直接，但暗示了一种因缺乏经验或智慧而导致的不合时宜，可能会让人看低或感到无奈。
put anything over on you 成功欺骗或蒙蔽你。
“put something over on someone” 是一个习语，意思是“成功欺骗某人”。加上 “anything” 后，强调“任何事都能骗到你”，即“你很容易上当”。在语境中的关系：这是对 artless之人最可能面临的风险的具体描述。因为你天真、不设防，所以别人能轻易“在你身上耍任何花招”。
trust beyond the point of safety 信任超过了安全点

credulous- willing to believe；not suspicious or skeptical轻信的——愿意相信；不怀疑、不持怀疑态度
gullible- easily tricked 容易上当受骗的；轻信的
