Glad to hear that you’re interested in Chinese old sayings and want to learn about
“Where there is a will, there is a way”, I am writing to share my opinion on it.
There was a time when I was faced with a host of difficulties. I was nearly at the
edge of giving up when a good friend of mine told me this famous saying. After that, I
began to look at things differently, convinced that I could manage to tackle every problem
as long as I stuck to my goal. Now, with a never-give-up mindset, I am brave enough to
deal with all the difficulties I encounter.
All in all, only when we insist on what we want to do can we eventually overcome
whatever challenges in our life.

第二节 读后续写
主题语境:人与自我—做人与做事。这是一篇记叙文。Jayce左臂残缺,受到同学嘲笑,母
亲不知如何向他解释,同样左臂残缺的Trashaun在网络上上传了自己扣篮的视频,很快受到
欢迎,Jayce和他的母亲看完视频,信心大增。但他们不知道的是,他们的一个朋友请求
Trashaun安排了一次会面,希望能对Jayce有所帮助。
第一段的段首句:The day was not spent in self-pity but for fun. 承接上文Trashaun和Jayce
见面那天发生的事情。“not in self-pity but for fun”证明两个人见面后不是相互怜悯同情,
而是要描写两个人的互动,尤其要强调见面后很快成为朋友,Trashaun教Jayce扣篮的经过。
第二段的段首句中的“the shirt”,说明在第一段后面必须出现Trashaun送给Jaycey一件

Behind stood Lewis, whose face was flooded with tears. She confirmed the14-year-old would be a
superhero one day, so would her son, who was unfolding his hidden wing!
