第二节 读后续写
Paragraph 2:
Instead of trying to talk as fast as others, I chose to use my own way to help the class. I
decided to listen carefully to everyone's opinions and take detailed notes. When someone made an
interesting point, I would write it down and think about it deeply. During the discussion, I waited
for the right moment to share my thoughts. Instead of interrupting, I would raise my hand politely
and wait to be called on. I found that by observing first, I could often add something meaningful
that connected different ideas or asked thoughtful questions that helped the group think deeper.
Paragraph 3:
To my surprise, my method worked very well and added something new to our discussions.
Professor Miller noticed my approach and praised me for being a "thoughtful contributor." She
said my questions helped the class explore ideas more thoroughly. Other students started asking
me for my notes and listening carefully when I spoke. David admitted that my way of thinkingwas different and valuable. I realized that being quiet and thoughtful didn't mean being passive.
My Chinese learning style of careful listening and deep thinking actually made me a better
participant in American classroom discussions.

Text 1
M: My flight's at 8, so I need to leave pretty soon. My brother will drive me to the airport.
W: Oh, okay. Are you taking the subway or maybe an airport shuttle? It’ll be faster, I guess.
M: No, he’s already on his way. He said it would be quicker that way anyway.
Text 2
W: Excuse me, I'm looking for a jacket, something in blue, size medium.
M: We have this one. It's a bit of a darker blue, though. And we also have a light blue one here, but
only in size large.
W: Oh, I really wanted a medium, and that darker blue isn't quite what I had in mind. Do you have
anything else?
Text 3
W: Hi, Mr. Johnson. I saw your picture on the school website today. It's about the new painting
competition.
M: Oh, really? Yes, I'm trying to encourage more students to join.
W: That's great! My younger sister is really into painting. I'll let her know about it.
Text 4
W: I'm really worried about Tom’s math grades. He just can't seem to grasp the concepts.
M: Well, he's always struggled with numbers. But I've noticed he's much better when he gets one-
on-one attention. Maybe some extra classes could help?
W: That's a good idea. I'll make sure he catches up. Practice always helps.
Text 5
W: Hey, you're late! What kept you? The movie started ten minutes ago.
M: I know, I know. I had to wait for Jane. She was running a bit behind schedule.
W: Oh, Jane. Well, at least you made it. Let's head in.
Text 6
M: Hey, Amy. What are you doing this Saturday? Fancy seeing a movie? There's a new sci-fi film
I've been dying to see.
W: Hmm, sounds good, but I'm actually planning to go to the new art exhibition at the city
museum. It just opened last week.
M: Oh, I heard about that! My friend said it's pretty impressive.
W: Yeah, I thought it might be a nice change. I'm going with Sarah. You should totally join us!
M: That's great, but I've already bought tickets for the film. Maybe next time?
W: Sure, no problem. Enjoy your movie!
Text 7
W: Good morning, Tom. How was your weekend? Did you manage to finish that report?
M: Good morning, Sarah. It was good, thanks. And yes, I finally got it done! Took me all Saturday
morning, but it's emailed to Mr. Lee now.
W: That's a relief! Mine took me a while too. So, are you coming to the staff meeting this
afternoon? It's at 2:00 PM in Conference Room 3.M: Oh, I almost forgot! Thanks for the reminder. I have a client call at 1:30, but I should be done
by 1:50, so I'll be there right on time.
W: Great! See you then.
Text 8
M: Hey Amy, how was your camping trip last weekend? I saw your photos on social media –
looked amazing!
W: Oh, it was incredible, Mark! We went up to Mount Eagle. The views were breathtaking, and
the air was so fresh. We hiked quite a bit and even saw some deer!
M: Wow, that sounds really nice. I haven't been camping in ages. Was it tough finding a good spot
to set up your tent?
W: Not really. We had booked a site in advance, so it was pretty straightforward. The only thing
was, the nights got surprisingly chilly, even though it was sunny during the day.
M: I can imagine. So, any plans for another trip soon?
W: Definitely! I'm already thinking about exploring the coastal trails next month. You should
totally come along! It's so refreshing to escape the city for a bit.
M: That sounds fun! I’d love to join.
Text 9
W: So, Lucy, tell us about your recent trip to China!
M: It was fantastic, Sarah! I spent three weeks there last spring with my best friend, Lucy. We
visited Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an. Each city was so unique.
W: Three weeks! That sounds like a dream. What was the highlight for you?
M: Definitely the Great Wall in Beijing. It was absolutely massive and so historically significant.
We spent a whole day exploring different sections.
W: Wow. And what about the food? Any favorites?
M: Oh, the food! Everything was delicious, but I particularly loved the Peking duck in Beijing and
the street food in Shanghai. So many different flavors!
W: Sounds like an unforgettable experience. Did you pick up any souvenirs?
M: Of course! I bought some beautiful silk scarves in Shanghai and some traditional paper-cut art
in Xi'an. They’ll be perfect gifts.
