Audio script 1
Boy: What are you going to eat?
Girl: I’ll get the green salad. That’s the healthiest food. Vegetables are always good for
our bodies.
Boy: I don’t agree. The green salad only has vegetables. You need more than that to
be healthy.
Girl: So, what are you getting?
Boy: (pleased) The hamburger!
Girl: That’s junk food! It’s high in fat and salt!
Boy: That’s not true, actually. The hamburger has meat, bread and vegetables. It’s a
complete meal!
Girl: I don’t think one piece of tomato and two green leaves are enough.
Boy: Well... Maybe we could share our dishes to be healthy...
Audio script 2
Host: Welcome to Eat Well. Dr Yi, I often hear that we should eat as many fruit and
vegetables as possible. Is that right?
Dr Yi: No. Actually, you can’t only eat fruit and vegetables. It’s important to eat other
foods, too.
Host: OK, got it. And many people say that all snacks are unhealthy. Is that true?
Dr Yi: Not exactly. In fact, it’s OK to eat snacks, but don’t eat too many. Even chips are
fine.
Host: Great! So I can still enjoy some chips! Last question: Some people believe that
fat and salt are always bad for us. Is it true?
Dr Yi: Well, too much fat and salt is bad, but too little is also dangerous! In fact, we
need fat and salt for our bodies to work well. It’s all about balance.
