Cleaners help to keep cities clean. This month a park in France welcomed six very special cleaners. They are
crows(乌鸦)!
Workers at the park teach the crows to pick up small pieces of trash (垃圾). And they also teach the crows to
move the trash into a small box. After helping clean the park they get bird food for their hard work, the BBC reported.
This shows that “nature(自然) itself can teach us to take care of the environment (环境),” Nicolas de Villiers,
head of the park, told AFP.
The park chose crows because they are smarter than other birds. Earlier this year, scientists made a special
vending machine(自动贩卖机) for crows. The machine only works when a piece of paper of the right size is put inside
it.
The scientists found that crows could remember the right size of paper and put it in the machine to get food. This
is a good example of how clever these birds can be.
