My name is Penny. I’m a 16-year-old middle school student from China. Last summer holiday, I
was lucky enough to go to Africa for two months as part of a volunteer program. The purpose of
the program is to protect animals. I’ve been studying English since I was 5 years old, so I could
communicate with local people very well. They were all very friendly. They taught me a lot about
animals, including their living environment, eating habits, and ways to protect them. We did a lot

Last summer holiday, Li Hua went to a camp for Chinese traditional art. He learned how to make a
lot of different things, but the one he loved most was making Chinese paper kites. When he got
home, he immediately joined a Chinese kite-making club to develop his skills. He also read many
books about Chinese kites. Making kites isn’t easy though. The paper is very thin and easy to
break, but he’s getting better. If he improves more, then maybe one day he can teach others this
wonderful skill. He wants to spread Chinese traditional culture to the world.

of hard work, he took lessons from a young teacher.
On his eighteenth birthday, he wrote his own name for the first time. George invented many things
in his life. The train was the greatest one among them.
