Easter is a traditional festival in the west. It falls on the first Sunday after the first full Moon on or after March
21st.
A very old tradition on Easter is to give children a basket full of sweets. Parents often hide the basket so that the
children can have the fun of looking for it. Boys and girls believe that the Easter Bunny brings the basket each
year. The Easter Bunny is as important as Father Christmas. Sometimes parks in the cities will have special games
for children. People who work in the parks will hide eggs in trees or behind rocks. If children can find the eggs,
they will win prizes.
Besides, on Easter, Mother will buy a lot of eggs. She cooks them in the hot water until they are hard. Colouring
these eggs is another Easter tradition. It is a nice tradition because all the family members get together around the
table to help. In my opinion, staying with the family is the nicest part of any holiday.四、听填信息

Hi, I’m Cindy. I took part in a 2-week winter camp in Canada this winter holiday. I lived in a host family,
where both my spoken English and my understanding about Canadian culture were improved. I studied with the
local students. We made friends with each other and joined lots of after-school activities together. My spare time
was well spent too. I visited three world-famous universities and I wish I could enter one of them in the future. I
went skiing as well, which was really great.

Are you going to be a secondary student? Would you like to study abroad? If your answer is yes, Canada is a
good choice. The secondary education in Canada is for children aged from 12 to 18. The school year usually
begins at the end of August and it is generally divided into two terms. Lessons are given from Monday to Friday
and the school hours are usually from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The main subjects for secondary students include
English or French, Maths, General Science, P.E. and so on. In some secondary schools in Canada, only four
subjects are taught in each term but a lesson on each subject can be as long as 70 minutes.
After school, there are lots of interesting activities for students. If you are good at sports, you can be on a
school team. Also you can take part in a music club, a student newspaper club or a computer club.
