I am Lily. My favourite hobby is making Chinese knots. At the age of 12, I began to learn to make Chinese knots.
Chinese knots are one of the most important things in Chinese art. A Chinese knot is usually made of a thin rope.
We choose red ropes, because red is a lucky colour for Chinese people. It looks really beautiful in the shape of an
animal, a flower or a Chinese character. In China, these knots mean friendship, love and good luck. We can either
give them to friends as gifts or hang them in our houses.

of kites at the festival. Laura thought the kites were very beautiful. They were painted with colorful
drawings. Most of them were made of silk and paper. Laura and her parents enjoyed watching the
competitions very much. They decided to learn to make a kite after they came back.
