Jack is going to graduate from university next year. And he is looking for a job these days. He wishes to work
at a big company because he thinks it pays well. Last Friday, he went to a foreign company for the interview. He
felt nervous about it. So before the interview, he practiced many times by himself.
When he entered the room, there were already four people waiting. He said hello to them and took a seat. Then
he was asked some questions. He answered all the questions while looking down or somewhere else. After the
interview, he forgot to shake hands with them and left.
This Monday, he received an email from the company which said sorry to him. But at least, he found out how
to improve.

Sign language is a type of language. But it is mainly used by the deaf and people who can hear but can’t
speak. Sign language uses movements of hands, arms or body and facial expressions to communicate. If you want
to communicate with the deaf, you need to learn sign language first.Now there are several systems of sign language, such as French Sign Language, Chinese Sign Language and
British Sign Language. They are all similar to each other in some ways. But mostly, they are different from each
other. As a result, people from different countries even have difficulty communicating with each other freely in
sign language. So a common sign language is quite necessary.

Different Ways of Greeting Others
In America and Canada, people shake hands to greet each other. If your handshake is strong, the other
person may think you have lots of energy. In some Asian countries, people don’t touch each other when they
meet. They usually nod their heads and smile to show that they’re friendly. In India, people put their hands
together while nodding their heads. In some European countries, like Spain and Italy, men kiss each other on the
face. People would also greet their friends with a hug. In some places in New Zealand, people touch noses. Isn’t it
interesting?
