Although it is not the highest mountain in the Alps, the Matterhorn may be the most famous one. It is well-known
for its appearance and its four faces make it look like a pyramid. The mountain lies between Switzerland and Italy.
It is more than 4,000 metres high. Many people have tried to climb it although it’s very difficult. In 1865, an
English man and his six partners made the first successful climb to the top of the mountain. However, it was sad
because four of the seven men died on the way back. One of the bodies was never found.

Every 30 seconds there is an earthquake. But don’t worry because most are so weak that they cannot be
felt. Only a few big ones hurt people. So what should you do during the earthquake? The most important thing is
to stay calm. Then you should hide under a strong table or stay in a corner of the building. Cover your face and
head with your arms and cover your mouth with a towel or clothing. It’ll be an even better idea to get out of the
building or room, if you can do that easily. Most people do know about these. But you may not know what you
should do right after an earthquake. You should get away from furniture that may fall on you and open the door.
