I have to say interest is the best teacher. My early English learning experience shows that exactly.
I started to learn English when I was 10. It’s a very late start. But I was lucky to have a great
English teacher. She was from Canada. She had been to many countries, including the US and the
UK. She shared a lot of exciting stories. Since then, I became interested in anything “English”.
Every time I watched a foreign film, I was fascinated by the foreign lifestyle. And I wanted to
know more. So, I started to read whatever English materials I can find, magazines, newspapers,
story books. Such kind of interest had given me a really good start to learn English.

Michael Jordan is one of the world’s most famous basketball players. He was born in New
York in February, 1963. When he was young, he loved playing baseball. But after he began to play
basketball with his brother, he spent nearly all of his spare time on it. Jordan joined the Chicago
Bulls in 1984. Three years later, he got the title of the Most Valuable Player in the NBA. In 1984
and 1992, Jordan took part in the Olympic Games and won the gold medals twice. In 1993, Jordan
retired for the first time because of his father’s death, but he came back two years later. In 2003,
when he was 40, Jordan finished his last basketball match.
