Greenfield Community Library is where kids and adults alike come to grab their next favorite read,
flip through fresh magazines, or pick up a fun movie — all ready to take home and enjoy. It’s a place
designed to make borrowing easy and stress-free, with simple rules that let you focus on what matters:
diving into great stories.
Take home books, magazines, or movie discs whenever you want. Books stay with you for three
whole weeks, giving you plenty of time to get through every chapter. You can keep the dictionary for
one month. Magazines stick around for a week, perfect for quick reads. And movies? You’ve got five
days to watch them as many times as you like. Need a little extra time? No problem — renew books up
to twice, and magazines or movies once. Just call or visit the library’s website, and you’re set.
Life gets busy, we get it — but late fees here are kept small, so you won’t stress. For each day a
book is late, you will be charged 25 cents. Magazines get a fee of 15 cents per day, and movies 50 cents.
Oops, lost a book or broke a disc? We’ll help you replace it, with prices that fit the item — newer
books cost a bit more, but older ones are easier on the wallet. And if you find that lost book later? We’ll
refund (退还) your money, no questions asked.
Got sick and can’t return things on time? Just let us know, and we’ll stop those late fees until you’re
feeling better. School holidays? Extend your borrows without extra charges — just tell us before the due
date.
Come visit, borrow, and lose yourself in something great — we can’t wait to see you!

Global foreign trade has been changing greatly in recent years. According to the World Trade
Organization (WTO), global trade growth slowed down in 2026, but it still plays an important role in the
world economy.
Many factors influence global trade. Geopolitical tensions and high transportation costs have
brought challenges. Some countries have taken protectionist policies, which have affected the free flow
of goods. However, digital trade and green trade are growing rapidly, becoming new driving forces.
Developing economies are playing a more important role in global trade. Their trade volume has
increased steadily, especially in East Asia and Africa. South-South trade is booming, showing the
growing power of developing countries. Meanwhile, developed countries are trying to adjust their trade
policies to adapt to the new situation.
Service trade, including tourism, education and digital services, is developing faster than goods
trade. It has become a new growth point. Many countries are paying more attention to high-value-added
products and green industries, aiming to make trade more sustainable.
COVID-19 pandemic has changed the pattern of global trade. Supply chains have become more
diversified and reliable. Countries are realizing that cooperation is more important than competition.
They are trying to reduce trade barriers and promote free and inclusive trade.
Experts suggest that countries should strengthen international cooperation, reduce trade conflicts
and support multilateral trade systems. Only by working together can global trade recover quickly and
benefit people all over the world.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has stepped out of science fiction and become an essential part of
modern society, reshaping work, daily life and public services at an unprecedented speed. Powered by
advanced algorithms and massive data, AI automates repetitive tasks in factories, optimizes medical
diagnosis in hospitals, and offers personalized recommendations in entertainment and shopping. It
greatly improves efficiency and lowers operational costs, bringing convenience to ordinary people and
driving economic growth worldwide.
Nevertheless, the wide application of AI also arouses widespread anxiety and social challenges.
The most heated concern lies in employment. As intelligent robots and automated systems replace
human labor in manufacturing, logistics and customer service, millions of workers face the risk of
unemployment or position adjustment. Besides, bias in AI decision-making, privacy leakage and unclear
moral boundaries have triggered public debates. Critics warn that over-reliance on AI may weaken
human creativity and independent thinking, while unfair algorithms could widen social inequality.
However, experts argue that AI is not designed to replace humans, but to collaborate with them.
Instead of cutting jobs completely, AI transforms job types and creates new careers in AI development,
data analysis and ethical regulation. Governments and tech companies are actively making efforts to
deal with risks: strict data protection laws are passed to guard personal privacy, and professional training
programs help workers adapt to the changing job market.
Looking ahead, people hold mixed but generally positive expectations for AI. In the long run, AI is
expected to solve major global problems including climate change, resource shortage and public health
crises. It will free humans from heavy labor so that we can focus on creative, emotional and high-value
work. The key to a bright AI future is not to resist technological progress, but to guide AI development
in a human-centered way, balancing innovation with responsibility. Only in this way can we maximize
its benefits and minimize potential risks, building a smarter and more inclusive society.
12. What is the main idea of Paragraph 1?
A. The wide negative influence of AI.
B. The practical advantages of AI in society.
C. The history and future development of AI.
D. The high cost of popularizing AI technology.
13. Which problem caused by AI is NOT mentioned in Paragraph 2?
A. Unemployment pressure. B. Risk of personal data exposure.
C. Decline of human creativity. D. The high price of intelligent products.
14. What do experts think about AI?
A. It will finally take over all human jobs.
B. It should be banned to avoid social risks.
C. It creates new job chances instead of simply replacing labor.
D. It has more disadvantages than advantages in modern society.
15. What is the author’s attitude towards AI’s future?
A. Objective and hopeful. B. Doubtful and worried.
C. Uninterested and indifferent. D. Negative and disapproving.

第二节(满分25 分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
“Package!” a man called to me through the window, placing a box on the doorstep. I jumped
and nearly slid out of my chair and under the dining room table, but it was too late. He’d already seen
me. I forced a smile and thanked him as he turned away.
Growing up, I lived in the last house on a dead-end street. Neighbors hardly passed by, let alone
strangers. In college, I was blessed with the best roommates one could ever expect. They let me hide
behind them when we were around other people.
In the subsequent years, I kept working around my anxiety about crowds and people by waiting
them out. If I saw someone at the spot I was going to, I’d hang back at a distance until they were
done.
After my husband and I bought our own house, I’d hang my head over the balcony ( 阳台)
railing to see if anyone was outside. For an introvert (内向者) like me, this was the most convenient
way to minimize the chance of encountering a stranger.
Nevertheless, I didn’t shut out the world entirely. Like many introverts, I love books. I could
connect with all sorts of characters and find endless joy in exploring their worlds. Thus, once we had a
house, I couldn’t wait to build a Little Free Library.
“You do realize that means people will be coming to the yard, right?” my husband asked.
I tried not to think about that part through the preparations and finally launched my dream
library. I would sit at my desk at the corner, knowing all sorts of folks from the neighborhood were
coming for a book or two and pretending they weren’t there.
Every day before closing time, I would check the Library and see what books the visitors had
taken and take delight in their choices. It was a way of bonding with fellow book lovers from a safe
distance.
注意:1.续写词数应为150 个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。
Unexpectedly, that distance grew shorter as time went by.
