第三课：绿色奇迹 —— 塞罕坝

Saihanba is in the north of Hebei Province. It is a large man-made forest. It has beautiful grassland.

塞罕坝在河北省北部。它是一片大型人工森林，还有美丽的草原。

In the 1950s, it was a wasteland. In 1962, 369 people from all over China came to Saihanba. They became the first foresters and started to plant trees there.

20 世纪 50 年代，这里是一片荒原。1962 年，来自全国各地的 369 人来到塞罕坝。他们成为第一代造林人，开始在这里种树。

But the temperature was low and the wind was strong. It was very difficult to plant trees there. In the first two years, most of the young trees died.

The foresters never gave up. They worked hard year after year. They tried new ways to plant and take care of trees. Luckily, the young trees grew into tall trees and the tall trees became green forests.

造林人们从未放弃。他们年复一年辛苦劳作，尝试新的方法种植和养护树木。幸运的是，幼苗长成大树，大树汇成了绿色的森林。
