初中英语写作技巧:用好连接词,让句子之间不再「断片」
读一读这几句：I got up late. I missed the bus. I was late for school. 每句都对，可读起来像一串断开的珠子。缺的不是内容，而是把句子连起来的那根线——连接词。

常见写法
很多同学写作文时，每句话都是简单句，句与句之间没有任何连接，读起来像列清单；或者只会用 and 和 but，一篇文章出现七八次 and，显得单调，也看不出句子之间到底是什么关系。
技巧讲解
连接词（linking words）的作用是告诉读者句子之间的关系。写之前先想清楚关系是哪一种：表示顺序用 first, then, after that, finally；表示因果用 because, so, as a result；表示转折用 but, however, although；表示补充用 also, what's more, besides；表示举例用 for example, such as。注意两点：一是 because 和 so、although 和 but 在同一个句子里不能同时使用；二是连接词贵在准确，不必每句都加。
普通写法 → 升级写法
普通：I got up late. I missed the bus. I was late for school.
升级：I got up late, so I missed the bus. As a result, I was late for school.
普通：The test was hard. I passed it.
升级：Although the test was hard, I passed it.
普通：Reading is fun. It helps us learn new words and it helps us relax.
升级：Reading is fun. What's more, it not only helps us learn new words but also helps us relax.
普通：We cleaned the classroom. We put up some pictures. We went home.
升级：First, we cleaned the classroom. Then we put up some pictures. Finally, we went home, tired but happy.
示范段落
Last Saturday, my class visited an old people's home. First, we cleaned the rooms and the garden. After that, we sang songs and played chess with the old people. Although some of us were a little shy at the beginning, we soon began to chat happily. One grandpa, for example, told us stories about his school days. What's more, he taught us how to write Chinese characters with a brush. When it was time to leave, we were tired, but we all felt that it was a meaningful day.

下面三句话之间缺少连接，请用合适的连接词把它们改写成一段通顺的话：It rained heavily. We didn't go to the park. We stayed at home and made dumplings. It was fun.
提示：先判断关系：下雨和没去公园是因果关系；待在家里包饺子是结果的补充；最后一句是总结。可以用 because / so、instead、in the end 等连接词。
