As an enthusiastic participant, I joined my fellow volunteers in cleaning up the campus. We gathered in the school garden, where the weeds had grown wild. With gloves on and tools in hand, I carefully pulled out overgrown weeds. Following it, we moved to the pathways, where a thick layer of fallen leaves had accumulated. I swept diligently, formed piles and placed them into garbage bags. Our laughter echoed as we competed to see who could finish their section first. This experience has deeply touched me. It’s not just about the results of our labor but the spirit of selflessness and dedication that we learn from Lei Feng. It reminds me that every small act of kindness can make a big difference. 写作第二节 My brother and I jumped up to see for ourselves what was happening outside. There was a taxi in our driveway and from it emerged a woman. She grabbed her two suitcases from the driver’s hands, crossed our walkway, climbed up the front stairs, and walked straight into our living room with a broad smile on her face. My mother screamed excitedly as she recognized Aunt Hilde. She hugged us, and then we sat down next to our Christmas tree. After inquiring about the family, she detailed the accounts of her latest travels. Later, she took out a gift package lovingly wrapped in brown paper from her suitcase, which included souvenirs and gifts for each of us. The sudden appearance of the special delivery made my brother and I almost jump with joy. We really enjoyed Aunt Hilde’s company. And that Christmas was the best one we had ever had. Those gift packages kept coming each year for the next forty years of Aunt Hilde’s life I will never forget how much her Christmas package tradition meant to us. Text 1 M: Would you mind turning down the music? I’m doing my work. W: Oh, I’m sorry. I’ll turn it off. Text 2 W: Excuse me. May I have the bill, please? M: OK. It’s 120 yuan in total. W: All right. Can you give me two doggy bags? I want to pack the leftovers. M: Sure, no problem. Here you are. Text 3 W: John is still sleeping. M: Wow, it’s already 10:00 a.m. He must have stayed up late last night. W: Yeah, he didn’t come home until 11:30 last night. Text 4M: Your jacket is so beautiful. W: Thanks, but this is my father’s. M: Oh, it looks cool on you. Where did you get this straw hat? W: It’s actually from my mother’s cupboard. Text 5 M: Lisa, would you like to go to the library with me? W: OK. Do you think we can buy some drinks first? M: Sure. Oh, I nearly forgot. The forecast says it’ll rain today. W: Alright. Let’s take an umbrella. Text 6 W: Hey! How did your physics exam go? M: Not bad, it was not as hard as I thought. How about you? How did your presentation go? W: Oh, it went really well. Thanks for helping me with it. M: My pleasure. So... do you feel like studying tomorrow for our math exam? W: Yeah, Sure! Come to my house around 10:00 a.m., after breakfast. M: All right. I’ll bring my notes. Text 7 W: I’m going to Seoul next month. M: Wow, that’s one of Asia’s finest destinations. W: Yeah. So I’m wondering if you could teach me some commonly used Korean. M: You’ve found the right person. I stayed in Korea for five years. W: That would be great. M: Have you decided which scenic spots to visit and which hotel to stay in? April is one of the best months to visit Seoul. You’d better make a plan before you go there. W: OK, I’ll talk with my sister later. Text 8 M: You look upset. What's up? W: When I came home yesterday, I caught my brother Max going through my email. M: That’s too bad. Did you quarrel with him? W: No. Before I did that, my mom came back. I didn’t want to quarrel with Max in front of my mother. M: I think you should do something to prevent him from doing that again. I remember my brother once messed up my room, and then I asked him to clean my room for a few days. Otherwise, he wouldn’t get his pocket money from my mom. W: I know, but I don’t want to talk with Max for the time being. M: Perhaps you can try writing to him. W: Alright. M: By the way, my mom baked cookies for me. I’ll bring some for you tomorrow. W: Thanks. You’re really nice. Text 9 W: Larry, how’s your new job going? M: It’s challenging, but I’m enjoying it quite a bit. W: That’s great. I knew you’d do a good job as a manager. M: Thanks a lot. W: How’s your assistant manager Jenny getting on? M: Well, that’s part of the problem. Her probation period is up tomorrow and I don’t think she’s ready to pass. W: What seems to be the problem? M: Well, she was supposed to be able to learn her job within 30 days, but she just doesn’t seem to know what she’s doing. W: If you give her another 30 days, do you think she could figure it out by then? M: To be honest, she has no authority. She’s a hard worker, but no one listens to her.W: I see. Not everyone is cut out to work in management. M: I know. It’ll be great if we could transfer her to a department where she doesn’t have to work with people. W: There’s an opening in the production department. M: That’s perfect. I’ll let her know tomorrow. Text 10 Welcome, everybody, to General Motors Place, for opening night of Cirque de Soleil’s performance of Toruk. Tonight, you will enter the magical and mysterious kingdom of Pandora, first seen in James Cameron’s film Avatar. Our performers have been practicing for over a year and have traveled all around the country, so we sincerely hope you enjoy tonight’s entertainment. To make the most of your experience, please download the app Toruk from the App Store. Before and during certain parts of the show, the big screens around the stadium will make you participate and interact with the environment of Pandora. However, we do not allow any picture-taking during the performance. Bathrooms are at the top of the stairs outside every exit. If an emergency situation occurs, we urge everyone to stay calm and leave their seats in an orderly fashion. Emergency exits will be lit by bright green lights and can be found on every side of the building. Once again, we welcome you to our production of Toruk, and we hope you enjoy the show.
