A thank-you letter
1 Read the letter and describe Zhang Guimei in a sentence.
Dear Ms Zhang,
How time flies! It has been three years since we first met you at Huaping
Girls’ High School. Our time together was short but unforgettable.
Over the past three years, you took care of everything for us. Early in the
morning, you would wake us up and turn on the lights in the dormitory
building for us. In class, you checked our homework. Late at night, you
would walk in and around the building for our safety.
“Get up, girls!” “Time for early morning reading, girls!” “Good night!” All
these will stay with us.
We feel so lucky to have you with us. Your
deep love will light our way for the rest of
our lives.
Thank you, Ms Zhang, for everything! We
will miss you.
Forever yours,
Li Linlin

Friends
Time
Friends are special, they bring us cheer,
Always there to lend an ear.
They make us smile when we are sad,
Hold our hand when things look bad.
Friends are like sunshine on a rainy day,
They stand by us, come what may.
Through thick and thin, they are a treasure,
Bringing joy and love, without measure.
With friends, life is filled with fun and laughter,
Creating memories that will forever last hereafter.
Let’s celebrate friendship, so pure and true,
For having a friend like you makes everything new.

163She is going to talk about her favourite season.
They are going to write the best report!
I am going to swim tomorrow. He is not going to swim tomorrow.
Are you going to swim tomorrow? (Yes, I am./No, I am not.)

ask—asked, call—called, happen—happened,
join—joined, want—wanted
以不发音的e结尾的动词直 arrive—arrived, close—closed, invite—invited, like—liked,
接加-d live—lived, move—moved, use—used
clap—clapped, hug—hugged, plan—planned,
shop—shopped, skip—skipped, stop—stopped, trip—tripped
变y为i,再加-ed worry—worried
(Simple present tense)
We always have a big sports meet twice a year.
She often visits her students and their families.
I love to draw and paint.
You’re good at the long jump.
(1)句子的谓语动词是be(am、is或are)。例如:
I am a little busy this term.(肯定句)
Are you Danny?(疑问句)
He isn’t a teacher.(否定句)
答语一般为:“Yes,主语+be”;否定答语一般为:“No,主语+be+not”。
I live in a small village.(肯定句)
She does not want anyone to drop out of school.(否定句)
What subjects do you have?(疑问句)
do (does)是助动词,
I don’t like donuts.
She doesn’t like meat.
为:“Yes,主语+do (does)”;否定答语一般为:“No,主语+do (does) +not”。例如:
—Does he walk to school?
—Yes, he does./No, he doesn’t.

close—closes, go—goes,
do—does
-es,-es读/z/ study—studies
There be 结构(There be structure)
There is a nice big square. There is a school in the middle of the town.
There are only two streets. There is a pond near my house.
There are trees and flowers everywhere. There is a bed and two chairs in the room.
There aren’t so many changes.
Are there so many changes? (Yes, there are./No, there aren’t.)
There were no supermarkets a long time ago.
There are hundreds of people on the square.
There will be a meeting tomorrow morning.
(Reflexive pronouns)
Jenny bought herself a nice dress as a birthday gift.
I painted it myself.

teach oneself 自学 learn by oneself 自学 enjoy oneself 玩得高兴
help oneself to 随便吃/用…… by oneself 独自
Ourselves can make dinner for our parents.
正:We ourselves can make dinner for our parents.
时,应用one’s own。例如:
I drove my own car to a movie theatre.
(Imperatives)
Play a game and have fun.
Ride a bike and stay in the sun!
Keep your room dark and quiet.
Don’t spend too much time on the phone before bed.
Let me do it.
Let him go!
Let’s do it.
Let’s have a balanced diet!
简单句(Simple sentences)
They ate in the fields and slept in the wild.
Giant pandas live in the wild.
I love the forest.
Asian elephants leave their home.
They enjoy first-class protection in China now.
Trees are important.
The air is clean and fresh.
be (am、is、are、was、were)是最常用的系动词。还有
一些动词也可用作系动词,如get、become、turn、grow、look、feel、smell、taste、sound等。
