Join us at UNNC for the 2026 Ningbo Youth AI Film Festival Closing and Awards Ceremony

On Saturday 24 October 2026, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) will host the Closing and Awards Ceremony of the 2026 Ningbo Youth AI Film Festival, bringing AI filmmakers, academics and industry professionals from China and overseas to our campus.

An AI-generated content (AIGC) Talent and Project Industry Matchmaking Session will also take place separately in Ningbo later that day.

The 2026 Ningbo Youth AI Film Festival brings together outstanding AI-generated works from 11 countries, 98 institutions and more than 40 cities worldwide, showcasing the latest developments in AI filmmaking.

As the culmination of this year’s festival, the ceremony will give the UNNC community an opportunity to discover innovative films, exchange ideas and connect with professionals working in AI-generated media. Dr Simon Weaving of the School of International Communications at UNNC will serve on the festival’s judging panel. Professor Filippo Gilardi, Head of the School, will also attend.

• Mr Sheng Qiu, judge for the Shanghai International Film Festival and the Waves AI Hackathon

• Dr Feng Zhu, School of Drama, Film and Television, Communication University of China

• Mr Lee Sang-wook, Head of the AI-XR Content Lab at MBC, one of South Korea’s leading broadcasters

Event programme

Morning: Closing and Awards Ceremony

Venue: The D.H. Lawrence Auditorium, UNNC

The ceremony will feature short showcases of 30 nominated films, with 20–30 seconds dedicated to each film. Festival finalists and winners will then be announced, followed by the awards presentation.

Afternoon and evening: AIGC Talent and Project Industry Matchmaking Session

Filippo Gilardi 教授

Simon Weaving 博士

宁波诺丁汉大学人文社科学院国际传播系副教授，宁诺首个ARRI标准虚拟制作与动作捕捉实验室联合负责人，本届影像节评委。兼具电影制作人、电影节总监与影评人背景，现聚焦AI驱动的沉浸式电影创作研究。

仇晟

导演，2026上海国际电影节评委。AI作品《比如父子》获2025上海国际电影节金爵奖最佳艺术贡献奖，《一美元的故事》获戛纳世界AI电影节最佳动作短片奖。首部剧情长片《郊区的鸟》获FIRST青年电影展“最佳剧情长片”、西班牙Novos Cinemas电影节“最佳电影”、澳门国际影展NETPAC奖等多项荣誉。

朱峰

中国传媒大学戏剧影视学院副教授。长期致力于AI技术与影视教学的融合实践。主讲聚焦“AIGC与数字美术前沿”，指导AI、XR作品获国内外专业奖项30余项，是该院AI与影视艺术教学融合的一线实践者。

李相旭

韩国MBC C&I AI-XR内容团队负责人、MBC AI内容实验室主任。长期担任AI电视剧与电影制片人，致力于将前沿生成式AI技术应用于广播电视与电影制作流程，推动技术与叙事的深度融合，探索新的故事表达方式。目前，他正主导面向全球市场的下一代新媒体内容策划与技术融合项目。
