The idea behind Facebook is to make us feel connected all the time．But in my research, I’ve found that the truth is
quite different．
Technology, it turns out, has made being alone seem like a problem that needs solving．When young people are
alone, even for a minute or two, they feel the need to connect, to get on Facebook or some other social networks
and chat．But in connecting, they often end up feeling more isolated．Why？Because by being in constant(不断

From the beginning of the Internet, online dating (约会) has become one of the most popular things to all the
consumers (顾客). Although this may be fun, it is important to remember to think of your safety when trying to
meet that certain somebody. When talking about safety I am referring to taking care of your computer and yourself.
Before getting into the world of online dating you should make sure you take care of protecting your computer. A
good fire wall and an antivirus program are a must. These are needed to protect your emails and anywhere you surf
on the Internet. There are many great programs offered at your local computer store or available to buy online. With
great programs often come some pretty good costs. There is something that is better for the people who just can't
afford the cost of a good antivirus — you can find quite a few decent ones on the Internet for free.
Protecting yourself could surely be much more important than protecting your computer. You want to be careful in
choosing your dating sites. Do some good research. If you know anyone who has tried an online dating service ask
them what they thought. There are so many online dating sites that you should do extensive (广泛的) researches.
Make sure you keep the web addresses. Keep a list of fees, regulations and anything else that looks interesting to
you. If a place looks shady or makes you feel uncomfortable then you should steer clear away. At the end of the day
make sure you take care of yourself.

There have been arguments for years over who should officially go down in history as “the inventor of the ATM”，
and in 2004 a man called John ShepherdBarron received an OBE (大英帝国官佐勋章) in the New Year Honours
list for services to banking as the “inventor of the automatic cash dispenser”．But the UK government is now
unequivocally saying it is James Goodfellow who invented the ATM — so his place in history is now confirmed.
In the mid1960s, Goodfellow worked at a bank. His managers asked him to think of a way to allow customers to
withdraw cash from banks on Saturdays.“Most people worked during the week and couldn't go to the bank. They
wanted a solution (解决方法)．The solution was a machine which would give money to a customer，” he
says.“I wanted to develop a cash machine and, to make this happen; I invented the PIN (personal identification
number) and a plastic card.”
Good fellow’s first machines were put into use in 1967.The first one was opened at a bank in north London on 27
June, 1967.The machines became very popular, but Good fellow only received ￡10 for his idea and has not made
any money from it since.
The cash machine is now used all over the world and, every year, there are more and more: there are now three
million ATMs worldwide and there will be four million by 2020.The good news for Good fellow is that people are

it? It was James Good fellow’s idea.” Even better for Good fellow, his invention is in a 180page guidebook called
