Unit 14 I remember meeting you all in Grade 7. Teaching CAI, multimedia courseware or other realia that the T needs for Aids teaching Teaching Procedures Tips Step 1 Warming up  Revision Ask Ss to work in pairs, then take turns to talk about their special memories of junior high school. Ss can use the sentences: A: Do you have any special memories of junior high school? B: I remember...  Free Talk Let Ss answer the questions freely (T can encourage Ss to answer the questions voluntarily: 1. Which teachers will you miss the most after junior high school? Why? 2. What did your teacher say to you? What advice your teacher give you before? (Tip: T can help Ss review teacher’s advice in previous units.) Step 2 Presentation & Practice 2a  Ask Ss to close their textbooks and just listen and take notes when the recording is being played. Once the conversation has been played, ask Ss to work on this activity in pairs. Do they both agree on the answers? If not, why? Get them to look at their notes and decide whether thequestion is referring to something specific or something inferred from what was said. Answers: Someone didn’t like P.E. Someone was advised to take a break from running by a teacher. Someone liked Mr. Hunt’s teaching methods. 2b  Without playing the recording again, ask Ss to answer the questions in this activity then share their answers with their partner. Check with the class how many of the pairs agreed on all four answers. Play the recording again and get Ss to check their answers. Did the pairs that agreed on all four answers get all their answers right? Answers: 1. d 2. c 3. b 4. a  Playing the recording again and ask Ss to answer the questions: 1.Why is the P.E. teacher great? 2.What do they think of their life in junior high school? 3.How did they invite the band to play at their school? 4.What is Lisa going to do after she graduates from junior high?  Show Ss listening materials. Ask them to read the conversation sentence by sentence following the recording.  Show the short passage on PP P14to Ss and ask them to fill in the blanks according to the information in 2a and 2b. Answers: (from left to right, from top to bottom) P.E., instructions, kind, played, letter, offered, fun, hard work 2c  Let Ss work in groups of three or four, then role-play the conversation using the information in 2a or 2b. Step 3 Presentation & Reading 2d  T asks Ss to role-play the conversation and then explain the key sentences and phrases to Ss. In their pairs, get Ss to role-play the conversation in the textbook. Make sure that they are reading the parts with the correct intonation and expression. Once they have done that, ask them to rewrite parts of the conversation using their own examples, i.e. which teachers will they miss the most. They should also rewrite the reasons why they will miss those teachers. Get Ss to role-play their rewritten conversations in front of the class.  Let Ss see the chart on PPT P18 and ask them tocomplete the chart based on the conversation. Homework  Preview the poem in 3a.  Do the exercises in students’ book. This is the review unit. We get the students to learn and review some words and phrases about their memories and experiences in the three years. We Teaching will review some structures and tenses and get the students to practice them Reflection in listening and speaking. They are “remember+doing; have / has+ done”.Students should practice with their own memories and experiences.
