Step 1 Warming up
Revision
Ask Ss to work in pairs, then take turns to talk about their special
memories of junior high school. Ss can use the sentences:
A: Do you have any special memories of junior high school?
B: I remember...
Free Talk
Let Ss answer the questions freely (T can encourage Ss to answer
the questions voluntarily:
1. Which teachers will you miss the most after junior high school?
Why?
2. What did your teacher say to you? What advice your teacher
give you before?(Tip: T can help Ss review teacher’s advice in previous units.)
Step 2 Presentation & Practice

Ask Ss to close their textbooks and just listen and take notes
when the recording is being played. Once the conversation has
been played, ask Ss to work on this activity in pairs. Do they
both agree on the answers? If not, why? Get them to look at
their notes and decide whether the question is referring to
something specific or something inferred from what was said.

Without playing the recording again, ask Ss to answer the
questions in this activity then share their answers with their
partner. Check with the class how many of the pairs agreed on
all four answers. Play the recording again and get Ss to check
their answers. Did the pairs that agreed on all four answers get
all their answers right?

Playing the recording again and ask Ss to answer the questions:

3.How did they invite the band to play at their school?

Show Ss listening materials. Ask them to read the conversation
sentence by sentence following the recording.
Show the short passage on PP P14to Ss and ask them to fill in
the blanks according to the information in 2a and 2b.

Let Ss work in groups of three or four, then role-play the
conversation using the information in 2a or 2b.
Step 3 Presentation & Reading

T asks Ss to role-play the conversation and then explain the key
sentences and phrases to Ss.
In their pairs, get Ss to role-play the conversation in the textbook.
Make sure that they are reading the parts with the correct intonation
and expression. Once they have done that, ask them to rewrite partsof the conversation using their own examples, i.e. which teachers
will they miss the most. They should also rewrite the reasons why
they will miss those teachers. Get Ss to role-play their rewritten
conversations in front of the class.
Let Ss see the chart on PPT P18 and ask them to complete the
chart based on the conversation.

Step 4 Language points learning
instruction在He gave really clear instructions during P. E. class. 这句话
中作可数名词,其复数形式instructions常用来表示“用法说明,操
作指南”。常用表达有:
give instructions (on...) 给出(……方面的)指示
follow the instructions 遵循说明书;按照用法说明
在Because of her, I put in more effort and my exam scores
doubled.这句话中,double为不及物动词,意为“加倍;是……的两
倍”。它还可作及物动词,其后可直接跟宾语。double还可作形容
词,意为“两倍的;加倍的”。double作形容词,还可表示“双人用
的;双重的”。
shall是情态动词,在Shall we get each of them a card and gift to say
thank you? 这句话中的意思是“将要;将会”,不能单独作谓语,后
接动词原形,通常与第一人称连用。其过去式为should。
“Shall we…?” 用于表示建议并征求对方意见。
其肯定回答有:OK. / Good idea. / Sure. / Certainly. 等;
其否定回答有:Sorry, I…/ I’m afraid not. 等。
