Unit 14 I remember meeting all of you in Grade 7. Section A(Grammar Focus-4c)  Language goals To review different tenses.  Key words and phrases Teaching senior, senior high school, text, go by, level Aims  Key sentences 1.When I get to senior high, I will join the school swim team. 2.This year, with Mr. Trent's help, my English level has been improving and I hope to get good grades at the end of the year. Teaching Let Ss review different tenses. Difficulties Teaching CAI, multimedia courseware or other realia that the T needs for Aids teaching Teaching Procedures Tips Step 1 Warm up  Retell Ask Ss to think about the things the write remember in junior high school, then retell the poem. T can use a webbing chart to help Ss recall the contents of 3a.  Free Talk Ask Ss to work in pairs, then take turns to ask and answer the following questions: 1. What do you remember in Grade ... ? How did you feel? 2. What's your special memory or experience in junior high school? 3. How have you changed since you started junior high school? 4. What's your plan for next year? 5. What are you looking forward to in senior high school? Step 2 Presentation &Grammar Grammar Focus  Ask Ss to read the sentences in grammar focus. Grammar一般现在时 一般现在时的基本结构是:主语 + am/is/are & 主语 + 动词原形/动 词第三人称单数 一般现在时的基本用法:1. 表示经常发生或习惯性的动作或状态 2. 表示现在的特征、状态、能力、性格等 3. 描述客观真理或事实 4. 表示按计划、安排要发生的动作 一般现在时的标志词:sometimes, often, usually, always, every day 等 一般过去时 一般过去时的基本结构是:主语 + was/were & 主语 + 动词过去式 一般过去时的基本用法是:1.表示过去发生的事情或存在的状态 2. 表示过去反复发生的动作 一般过去时的标志词是:yesterday, just now, last year等 一般将来时 一般将来时的基本结构:will + 动词原形 & be going to + 动词原 形 一般将来时的基本用法:1. 表示将来要发生的动作或存在的状态 2. 表示说话人的意图、打算或某种可能性,此时多用“be going to + 动 词原形”这一结构 一般将来时的标志词:tomorrow, in the future, next year, this weekend等 宾语从句 宾语从句的引导词:that, if/whether, 疑问词(组) 宾语从句的语序:宾语从句一律用陈述语序,即:“引导词+主语 +谓语+其他” 宾语从句的时态:主句是一般现在时,从句可以用任何时态。主句 是一般过去时,从句常用过去的某种时态。宾语从句表示客观真理 或事实时,从句用一般现在时。 Step 3 Practice 4a  Ask Ss to number the sentences to make a paragraph. Answers: 6, 1, 3, 5, 4, 2  Let Ss find out the timeline in the poem.  Show the short passage on PPT P19 and P20 to Ss, ask them to fill in the blanks using the correct forms of the words given in the brackets. Answers: (from top to bottom, from left to right) has been, didn't work, joined, had, studied, got, had, worked, got, has been improving, will be, went by, get, will join 4b Ask Ss to answer the questions. Answers will vary. Step 4 Exercise & Homework Exercise  Do the exercises from PPT P24-P25. Homework  Preview the new words and phrases in Section B(1a-1e).  Do the exercises in students’ book. In this period, we review the past tense, present perfect tense, the future tense and the structures “used to, be going to, look forward Teaching to and remember doing” . We will learn some new words and Reflection expressions to write some sentences about the life in junior high school, so it is necessary to get the students to practice the new words and structures and discuss their memories and future life.
