7.
Section B(3a-Selfcheck)
Teaching Procedures Tips
Step 1 Warm up
Free Talk
Step 1: Encourage Ss to leave their seats and find partners freely in
the classroom.
Step 2: Let Ss take turns to ask and answer the questions below.
Ask Ss to take notes of their partners’ answers. T can encourage Ss
to find different partners.
1. Do you have any special memories about school days?
2. Do you have any unforgettable teachers or classmates in junior high
school?
3. Do you have any unforgettable events in junior high school?
Step 3: When all the Ss have finished, T can invite some Ss to
share the information they get from their partners to the class.
(Tip: T can show Ss the words to describe school days, teachers
and classmates before they start to do the activity.)
Step 2 Writing&Presentation
3a
T may wish to ask Ss to make their notes about the person or
event as a homework assignment. They can then concentrate on
writing their passage when they get to class.
Answers will vary.
3b
Before Ss start their writing assignment, get them to share their
notes with a partner and get feedback. They should also discuss
the sequence in which the information is to appear in the text.
Remind Ss that the questions in the textbook are there to give
them guidelines on what to think about. They should use their
partner as a sounding board, listen to other person’s opinion,
then decide on how to proceed.
Before writing, T can teach Ss the structure of a narrative
passage and T can also give Ss some hints of the contents that
they can write in their passages.
T can choose to show Ss the sample writing before or after they
write their own passages.Self Check
