My Hobby
I am a 15-year-old student in junior Grade 3. Though I am occupied with my
study, I would like to spend time on my hobbies, such as playing the piano, surfing

One of my favorite hobbies is reading. Reading has been in my life for many
years, since I began to learn characters. It can not only kill the time, but also, more
important, help improve my comprehension ability. When reading, I can learn a lot.
Reading Shakespear's works, I know how Hamlet looks like. Reading Socrates, I can
see how great ancient Greek philosophers are. Reading Lu Xun, I come back to the
old time of China。
二、干净校园
Keep Our School Clean
We are studying in this school. It is our duty to keep it clean and tidy. It is not good
to spit in public places, such as in the library, in the class. Eevryone shall protect the
grass and not to worlk over on it. We shouldn't leave rubbish here and there. Don't
draw pictures on the wall, they influence the look of our school . We should keep the
classroom clean and tidy. And we should do some cleaning often. If everyone tries
his best to do something useful for our school, I'm sure our school will be more
beautiful .
三、考试作弊
It’s very common for students to cheat in the exams. This year, our country has
passed a law that fights against this kind of law-broken behavior. It’s reported that
some students carry some important information or notes into the exam-room.
Some students copy others’ answers. What’s more, others use electronic products,
such as mobile phones, micro-earphones to pass on the answers.
There are many reasons for students to cheat in the exam. Some students are
too lazy to work hard most of time. They want to get good grades in order to enter a
good high school or a good university. Some students have too much pressure from
their parents and teachers. They only want to make them happy.
In my opinion, it’s dishonest of the students to cheat in the exams, and it’s
unfair for other students. In order to create a fair competing environment, we
should say NO to the exam-cheating.
四、最好的朋友
My best friend
Maybe you would like to ask me “who is your best friend?” I can tell you the
answer is Jack.
Jack used to be hard-working and interested in every subject we learn at school.
He is good at Chinese and English. He is friendly and he makes many foreign friends.
Meanwhile he gets on well with this classmates and friends. Jack likes dancing , and
drawing as well. His work has won prizes for several times. We help each other not
only in the study but also in our life.
It is possible that we are going to different schools in a few months , wherever we
go, I believe/am sure Jack will be my best friend forever.
五、珍爱物品
My Favorite Thing
My favorite thing from childhood is a doll. It is a dog with big black eyes and white
curly fur. I got it from my aunt on my 5th birthday. Since then it is always on my bed
and I can’t go to sleep without kissing it good-night. When I went to a boarding
school, I took it with me. My roommates used to laugh at me about it, but I still kept
it beside my pillow. I love it so much because it gives me comfort whenever I feel
down.

Chinese well.
First, it is helpful to read some good Chinese newspapers and magazines. In this
way your reading ability can be improved. Besides, listening to your favorite Chinese
songs is actually an interesting and effective way to improve your listening. More
importantly, try to speak Chinese as much as possible and don’t be afraid of making
mistakes. The more you speak, the better your spoken-Chinese will be. Finally, I think
keeping a diary in Chinese is surely a good way to improve your writing.

七、保护环境
Pollution around us
In recent years our life is becoming better and better.
But our environment is becoming worse and worse. It’s very bad for our life.
Now many people have air-conditioners and cars, they produce (give off ) waste gas.
More and more trees are being cut down. There are so much sand on the earth
(leaving only sand ) . We often see factories pour waste into rivers or lakes. Water in
the river is quite dirty. We haven’t enough clean water to drink in cities. Now we
are in danger. It’s very necessary and important to protect the environment well.
I think if everyone tries his best to protect the environment, the world will
become much more beautiful , and our life will be better and better .
九、校运动会
Our school has a sports meeting every October. I join in the 100-meter race every
time. Last year, I fell down in the final race. After I got up, it was too late. I couldn’t
hold back my tears because of the unexpected failure. Then most of my classmates
came around me. They reminded me of the real sports spirit. I’ll never forget the
experience. My suggestion is that we can start more fun games so that more
students can take part in.

How to learn English well
English is important and useful to us. How can we learn it well? Here are my
suggestions.
First, we should often listen to the tapes, English songs and programs. Watching
English movies is also helpful to us. Second, we should speak English in class as much
as possible. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. The more you speak, the fewer
mistakes you’ll make. We'd better join the English club and practice with others.
Third, we can read more English newspapers and magazines. It’s good for us. At last,
we should recite some good passages and keep diaries.
In a word, as long as we do more listening, speaking, reading and writing, we
will learn English well.
