Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to s公ha众r号e :m天y 海fe题e库dback on the recent wild plant specimen collection activity. I thoroughly enjoyed
the activity, which allowed me to get close to nature, recognize various rare plants, and deepen my understanding
of botany. The hands-on experience was both meaningful and fascinating.
To make the activity better, I have a couple of gentle suggestions to share. I think adding a professional guide
to introduce plant characteristics would be helpful. What’s more, preparing more collection tools could avoid
shortages.
I sincerely hope such activities will be held more frequently. They not only enrich after-school life but also
foster our love for nature.
Yours,

Alex picked up a packet of seeds and handed it to Liam. “Let’s plant them now,” he said, his voice firm and
encouraging. Kneeling side by side in the warm soil, they worked together—loosening the earth, carefully placing
the seeds, and gently covering them. As Liam brushed the rich soil from his hands, he felt an unexpected joy
bubbling within him. It wasn’t the fleeting excitement of unboxing a new gaming machine, but a deeper satisfaction
that came from creating life with his own hands and connecting with someone he cared about. With the afternoon
sun warming their backs, they watered the newly planted seeds, ripples of joyful laughter lingering around the whole
garden.
After that, something changed within Liam. His daily routine of visiting the garden filled him with a deep,
patient anticipation, especially as he watched the green shoots push through the earth from where they’d planted.
When his first sunflower bloomed, its golden face turning toward the sun, he realized it brought him more joy than
all his expensive possessions combined. The constant craving for new fashionable items had quietly disappeared,
replaced by the profound satisfaction of nurturing life. In tending the garden, he had unknowingly been tending to
his own happiness, watching it grow and blossom alongside the flowers.

A
因此,选A。
故选A。
“任何时间调整都需要采取审慎、主动且持续的策略”(any time rearrangement requires a deliberate, intentional
and ongoing approach)。

M: I’ve been waiting for 20 minutes now and my game still hasn’t finished downloading! Is there a problem with
our Internet provider? It’s been slow all week.
W: May from across the road was complaining about it too, so the issue isn’t just with our house. (1)
W: Oh, I love this travel show! But why is everyone speaking German?
M: I’m planning a trip to Germany next year. I hope I’ll be able to communicate with local people by then. (2)
W: For the charity event, we need 150 chairs set up in the hall.
M: Why so many chairs? We’re expecting no more than 120 people.
W: Oh, is it only that many? Great. Let’s make 15 rows with a passage in the middle and four chairs on each side.
(3)
W: What are your plans for this weekend?
M: I was considering going hiking, but the forecast says it’s going to be foggy and visibility will be poor. (4)
W: That’s unfortunate. Why does the weather always seem to take a turn for the worse when I want to take photos?
W: Was there any soap in the washroom?
M: Um…I don’t think so. But the water was warm this time. My hands are still wet.
W: No soap means no washing. You can only say you washed your hands when there’s soap. So annoying. (5)
M: Have you heard about Rachel’s promotion? (6)
W: Oh yes, her desk is filled with congratulation gifts. I got her a funny desk calendar.
M: Creative thought. I wonder what to get her.
W: Oh, I wish I had thought of this first—my husband told me about a picture frame that you can link to your phone.
You can set it to display up to 50 photos, one at a time. Wouldn’t that add a personal touch to her office? (7)
M: Oh, yes, I saw something like that. You can have it show your daily schedule too. Great thought. I’ll get one.
W: I hope she displays some of our team outings.
M: I agree.
M: Come in, have a seat. Your leadership and results on the East Street theater reconstruction were excellent. I knew
you were the right person to lead this project because of a similar one you led a year ago. (9)
W: Thank you. You and this company really value my contributions.
M: Quality building, ahead of schedule, and under budget—because of that we’re issuing you a bonus of 30% of
the budget savings. That is $6000. (10)
W: Great news. I’d like to share it with all of my team. (10) They worked overtime on the project.
M: Great idea. That will keep them motivated. Send me details of how you want to spread it out, and accounting
will take care of it.
W: I’ll send it to you tomorrow. On Friday, my team is meeting in the conference room. I’ll announce it then. (10)
M: Good timing.

W: Wow, Ben! It’s such a hot day, and you’re still helping Mark move his things? (11) You must be exhausted. Catch
this water; it’s ice-cold.
M: Thanks, that’s just what I need. Moving is hard, but you’ve got to help your friends, right? They say many hands
make light work.
W: You’ve always been like that. I remember when you canceled a holiday to help me with my science project. (11)
Even now, I’m sure balancing your schedule between work and friends isn’t easy.
M: Well, what’s friendship if you’re not there when it counts? Plus, everyone needs help sometime.
W: Of course! I’ve always appreciated your thoughtfulness. I’d also appreciate it if you could join Mark and me for
a family dinner. (13) I’ll be making homemade pasta with seafood and a fresh garden salad. After a hard day’s work,
you should have a good meal.
M: That sounds fantastic. I’ll call my brother and tell him I’ll meet him after dinner instead. He’ll understand. (13)
Your family’s pasta recipes are famous in my family.
M: Thanks for agreeing to take care of the house while we’re away. Especially for the pets and plants, I’ve written
some instructions.
W: I’m happy to help. So it says here Georgie needs 15-minute walks in the morning and before it gets dark. (15)
Oh, and you’ve even mapped the routes. (16) I’ll feed him one and a half spoons from the big clear container after
his walks. Betty gets one spoon from the small container once a day. I see. Dogs usually eat more than cats. (15)
M: Right. And the fish—a bit of fish feed once per day is all they need. Let me show you—a bit is about this much.
(16)
W: Got it. Sounds simple.
M: The door and alarm codes, and all the details for the pets and plants are on this sheet. (16) Keep it safe. Feel free
to stay longer and play with the animals.
W: Oh, sure. Thanks. I’ll be careful with the paper.
M: Any other supplies you might need are in the laundry room. (16) One last thing—if anything seems off or you
have questions, just call me anytime. We’ll be reachable for the whole trip.
W: I will. Enjoy your trip! I’ll make sure everything’s taken care of.
Hi, everyone, thanks for the warm welcome. My journey here seems unusual, and I appreciate the chance to
start a new career. Originally, I studied Communication Design, (17) and I went to Italy to get my master’s degree
in Museum Design and Administration. It was an incredible experience. Following that, I worked in museums for
12 years. One of the highlights was being the lead designer for a children’s museum. It actually never opened,
though. That was kind of heartbreaking, really. (18) But during that time, I occasionally volunteered to give art
workshops to kids in the countryside. I thought it would just be something fun, but it became more meaningful. The
kids loved the workshops, and I found myself loving them, too. Their passion, creativity, and energy made me
rethink what I wanted to do. (19) It was satisfying in a way. So, after a lot of soul-searching, I made a decision to
change careers and become an art teacher. (19) (20) Now, instead of running a museum, I’ll be helping students
explore their own creativity here. It’s a huge change—new job, new country, and new language. I feel a little
unsettled, honestly. I’m sure it’s the right move, though. (20) And I’m looking forward to starting classes and
working with you all.
