第四部分 写作 满分20分
Dear Mike,
I’m really sorry to hear about your problem with Internet addiction. It can
seriously affect your health, studies, and relationships, so it’s important to take
action now.
Here are some suggestions. First, set a daily limit on your computer use and
stick to it. You could use a timer or an app to remind yourself when your time
is up, and gradually reduce the duration each week until it reaches a reasonable
level. Second, find other activities you enjoy, such as sports or reading, to replace
online time. This not only helps distract you from the Internet but also improves
your physical health and broadens your knowledge.
I truly hope my advice will help you overcome this challenge. Looking
forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours,

M: Did you feel that earthquake last night, Alice?
W: Yeah, John. I was just about to fall asleep when the bed started shaking.

sound.

W: No, I haven’t, George. I was planning to go last Saturday, but ended up going on a trip to the
mountain instead.
M: OK. When you do decide to visit the museum, please let me know. I’d like to go with someone
who also appreciates art.
W: How about the day after tomorrow? It will be less crowded on Friday than on the weekend.

W: Absolutely. The characters show impressive character.
M: So which book have you been reading lately?
W: Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl. His account of finding the purpose of life is very
inspiring.

W: Mike, I’d really like to take part in some animal rescue activities, but I’m not sure where to start.
M: There are indeed many ways to help animals, Carol. One choice is volunteering at a local animal
shelter.
W: What do volunteers usually do at the shelter?
M: They often help with tasks such as walking dogs, playing with cats, doing cleaning work, and
finding owners for the animals.
W: I love the idea of finding loving homes for homeless animals. Are there any other chances?
M: Sure. There’s also a wildlife center which rescues wild animals. But professional training is a must
if you go there.
W: Working with wildlife sounds amazing. Thank you for your advice, Mike!
M: My pleasure. Oh, the bell is ringing, and it’s time for class. Let’s get inside.
W: OK. It’s Miss Lin’s class.

M: Hi, Ella. It’s impressive that you can speak four languages well — English, French, Spanish and
Arabic. How did you make it?
W: Well, Peter, there are various factors. My mom is Egyptian. So I grew up, hearing her speak Arabic
all the time at home.
M: I see. So what made you fluent in French?
W: We moved to Paris for my dad’s work when I was five and lived there for three years.
M: That’s a good chance to learn a language.
W: Definitely. As for Spanish, I chose it as a major in college.
M: I find it’s hard to learn Spanish, and I often make grammatical errors. Can you give me a few tips?
W: Of course. Both watching Spanish shows and making a conversation with partners are great ways.
Most importantly, you can practice it daily through mobile apps.M: That’s fun. Do you know which apps are suitable?
W: Duolingo for listening, Diccionario for referring to words, and El Mundo for something to read.

M: When thinking of bears, you may picture a brown bear or teddy bear. But do you know eight
different species of bears can be found across the world? They include polar bears in the Arctic, sun
bears in Southeast Asia, and brown bears and black bears in North America, Europe, and Asia. And
they usually live in forests and mountainous areas.
Most bears are powerfully built with strong bodies, long noses, thick fur, and large feet for digging
and climbing. In addition, they show different features as a result of adaptation to the environment —
polar bears have pipe-like fur to keep warm and let in sunlight, while sloth bears have long feet in a
special shape to tear open white ant nests. Bears have such an excellent sense of smell that they can
find a wide variety of food sources.
Sadly, all eight species have falling populations, and several kinds, especially polar bears, are
endangered. To ensure their survival, protective measures, for example, establishing protected areas
and preventing illegal hunting, are needed.
