2024-2025 江苏省名校协作体 12 月高一联考 英语试题(笔试部分) (考试时间100分钟 满分120分) 一、 阅读理解(2.5*20=50分) A Poems for high schoolers If The poem is written by Rudyard Kipling. In this poem, a father talks of several values and advises his son to live with moderation and constraint (克制) to continuously maintain calm and avoid overreacting. The poem is full of positivity for personal growth in difficult times. Anyone struggling with a lack of desire in life can still benefit from it. The Laughing Heart The poem advises readers to take control of their own life and make the most of their time. At the beginning of the poem, Charles Bukowski talks about how one shouldn’t let others take their “light” out of them. Bukowski says that once you begin to show up for your own life, “amazing” things will begin to happen to you. The Laughing Heart, which focuses on risk and making decisions in life, is attractive to youth as it serves as an encouragement to them to stand up for themselves in difficult times. Fifth Grade Autobiography Through the poem, Rita Dove discusses the good memories of her most significant life influences as a child. By using language and pictures, she recalls how great and significant her family is as she looks at a photograph. Based on Dove’s poetry, an excellent activity would be to ask children to select a photo that’s significant to them and write their own Fifth Grade Autobiography. The Rose That Grew From Concrete The poem is about achieving our life goals despite the challenges we experience along the road. In this poem, Tupac Shakur compares himself to a neglected rose who went from being a marginalized (被边缘化的) teenager to one of the most influential singers the world has ever known. The poem will inspire readers to focus and realize their dreams. 1. What is the Rudyard Kipling’s poem about? A. Difficulties in life. B. Teenager education. C. Emotional expression. D. Parental advice.2. How does the poet start The Laughing Heart? A. By describing a scene. B. By making comparisons. C. By offering suggestions. D. By explaining a problem. 3. What do the last two poems have in common? A. They share good memories of the poets. B. They are based on the poets’ own life. C. They are about important life skills. D. They stress the importance of dreams. D 2. C 3. 根据第一首诗歌介绍中的第二句“In this poem, a father talks of several values and advises his son to live with moderation and constraint to continuously maintain calm and avoid overreacting. (在这首诗中, 一位父亲谈到了几个价值观,并建议儿子适度克制地生活,不断保持冷静,避免反应过度。)”可知, Rudyard Kipling的诗歌是关于一位父亲的建议的。故选D项。 【2题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二首诗歌介绍中的第二句“At the beginning of the poem, Charles Bukowski talks about how one shouldn’t let others take their “light” out of them. (在这首诗的开头,Charles Bukowski谈到了一个人 不应该让别人夺走他们的“光”。)”可知,The Laughing Heart这首诗歌是通过提供建议来展开。故选C 项。 【3题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三首诗歌介绍中的第一句“Through the poem, Rita Dove discusses the good memories of her most significant life influences as a child. (通过这首诗,Rita Dove讨论了她小时候最重要的生活影响的美 好回忆。)”和第四首诗歌介绍中的第二句“In this poem, Tupac Shakur compares himself to a neglected rose who went from being a marginalized teenager to one of the most influential singers the world has ever known. (在 这首诗中,Tupac Shakur将自己比作一朵被忽视的玫瑰,从一个被边缘化的青少年变成了世界上最有影响 力的歌手之一。)”可知,最后的这两首诗歌都是基于诗人自己的生活写的。故选B项。 B Scientists have known for a long time that the color of a room or the light in it can affect our feelings. Manyprisons and hospitals have rooms that are painted pink, for pink has a calming effect. Then, what role does color play in the interaction with food? A new study has discovered for us the link between color and food cognition (认知). Professor Falfan and his team carried out this study by asking participants (参与者) to recognize food pictures in black and white. The result was in agreement with his former prediction (猜测). Although color is not a decisive factor, it has a clear influence on food recognition. Without color, people unsurprisingly made more mistakes and it’s easy to mistake different dishes as the same food. However, this increase in error rates does not change the accuracy (准确) of food recognition among different people. Those with a higher visual (视觉的) ability always did better. Then the researchers raised a new question: Would people with color blindness be less food neophobic (挑食 的) than those with normal color cognition? They gathered participants with color blindness and required them to fill in a questionnaire (问卷) that measures how resistant (抵制的) they are to new foods. The result suggested that colorblind people are indeed less likely to be food neophobic than non-colorblind people, because the limited colors that colorblind people can see reduce the signals that may raise freshness. safety or anxiety about new foods. So that is why color affects food cognition. The researchers believe that colorful foods tend to attract our visual attention more, thus improving our cognitive ability of food. Moreover, color may also be connected with the nutritional value of food. Although this has not been fully proved, brightly colored foods often give the impression (印象) of a healthier and more nutritious diet. Therefore, people tend to prefer meals with a range of colorful foods. 4. How did professor Falfan and his team carry out their research? A. By doing experiments and surveys. B. By studying data from other researches. C. By observing food in different colors. D. By interviewing some colorblind people. 5. According to the study, why are colorblind people less likely to be food neophobic? . A Recause they have a much higher visual ability. B. Because they have less interest in tasting foods. C. Because their attention is more attracted by food colors. D. Because their feelings are less influenced by food colors. 6. What is the reason for people preferring colorful foods? A. They remind them of good memories. B. They help reduce their negative feelings. C. They look healthier and more nutritious. D. They often have a better smell and taste. 7. What is the primary conclusion of the study? A. Color plays an important role in food cognition.B. Color has much influence on people’s feelings. C. Color blindness makes people more food neophobic. D. Color is connected with the nutritional value of food. A 5. D 6. C 7. 根据第二段第一句“Professor Falfan and his team carried out this study by asking participants (参 与者) to recognize food pictures in black and white.(Falfan教授和他的团队通过让参与者识别食品的黑白图片 来进行这项研究。)”和第三段“Then the researchers raised a new question: Would people with color blindness be less food neophobic (挑食的) than those with normal color cognition? They gathered participants with color blindness and required them to fill in a questionnaire (问卷) that measures how resistant (抵制的) they are to new foods.(然后,研究人员提出了一个新的问题:色盲患者是否比正常颜色认知的人更不挑食?他们征集了色 盲参与者,并要求他们填写一份问卷,以衡量他们对新食物的抵制程度。)”可知,Falfan教授和其团队的 研究是通过做实验以及调查人群来完成的。故选A。 根据第三段最后一句“The result suggested that colorblind people are indeed less likely to be food neophobic than non-colorblind people, because the limited colors that colorblind people can see reduce the signals that may raise freshness, safety or anxiety about new foods.(结果表明,与非色盲人群相比,色盲人群确实更不 容易挑食,因为色盲人群能看到的有限颜色减少了可能提高新鲜度、安全性或对新食物焦虑感的信号。)” 根据最后一段中“Although this has not been fully proved, brightly colored foods often give the impression (印象) of a healthier and more nutritious diet. Therefore, people tend to prefer meals with a range of colorful foods.(尽管这一点尚未得到充分证实,但色彩鲜艳的食物往往给人一种更健康、更有营养的饮食印 象。因此,人们往往更喜欢吃各种五颜六色的食物。)”可知,人们喜欢色彩鲜艳的食物是因为它们会给人 一种更健康、更有营养的印象,即看起来更健康、更有营养。故选C。 【7题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段中“Then, what role does color play in the interaction with food? A new study has discovered for us the link between color and food cognition (认知).(那么,颜色在与食物的交互中起着什么作用 呢?一项新的研究为我们发现了颜色与食物认知之间的联系)”及第二段中“Although color is not a decisive factor, it has a clear influence on food recognition.(尽管颜色不是决定性因素,但对于食物认知还是有着明确的影响)”可知,研究的结论是颜色对于食物认知有着明确的影响,与A选项“颜色在食物认知中扮演者 重要角色”描述相符。故选A。 C My initial exploration of the world of comic books happened through the comic strips in newspapers. It began with a fondness for Garfield and his adventures, and led to the discovery of a range of comic books like Champak, Tintin, and Archie. They enabled me to enjoy myself in a world without iPads and the Internet ― just like so many of my friends who were fond of reading. While my access to comics as a child was limited to what was printed in the newspaper, this changed once I grew older and started visiting bookstores to buy the books that I wanted to read. Having grown up on a diet of image-heavy books, I found the idea of reading text-only novels quite formidable. As I searched for books that lay somewhere in between, I came across a copy of Bhimayana ― a graphic novel. It felt familiar due to its comic- like theme and design. Plus, understanding complex narratives through pictures was relatively easier and more fun. And so, as I grew older, I found myself transitioning towards graphic novels from childish comic books. Graphic novels dealt with serious topics in a more engaging manner. They would literally show me what was going on. For example, when I was reading Joe Sacco’s Palestine, I didn’t have to imagine the ruin caused by the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I could actually see it while reading about it. Fast-forward a few years to when I was given a copy of Jonathan Bloomfield’s Palestine: A Novel. Though I was impressed by the compelling (扣人心弦的) nature of storytelling in his book, I am not sure if I would have been able to visualize and enjoy his text-only version so much had I not read Sacco’s Palestine first. Thanks to the graphic novel, I had a “picture” of whatever had happened, and that made it easier and more fun to understand the details of the overall story. From black and white strips and colorful comic books to illustrated graphic novels, this type of storytelling has come a long way. While my romance with comic books is still ongoing, in the long run, my love for graphic novels is more substantial and here to stay. 8. Why did the author turn to comic books as a child? A. He found comic books interesting. B. He had limited access to other books. C. He wanted to be different from his friends. D. He could relax from reading text-only books. 9. Which word can best explain the underlined word “formidable” in paragraph 2? A. Acceptable. B. Natural. C. Scary. D. Appealing.10. What does the author say about reading Sacco’s Palestine? A. It encouraged him to read more text-only novels. B. It improved his understanding of Bloomfield’s book. C. It introduced him to a compelling style of storytelling. D. It changed his attitude to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. . 11 What does the author mainly talk about in the passage? A. Comic books are more than comic. B. Why he loves reading graphic novels. C. Why he turned to serious novels eventually. D. Picture books are here to stay for many reasons. A 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第一段“It began with a fondness for Garfield and his adventures, and led to the discovery of a range of comic books like Champak, Tintin, and Archie. They enabled me to enjoy myself in a world without iPads and the Internet ― just like so many of my friends who were fond of reading.(这一切始于对加菲猫及其冒险的喜 爱,由此我发现了一系列漫画书,如《Champak》、《丁丁历险记》和《阿奇漫画》。它们让我在没有 iPad和互联网的世界里享受乐趣——就像我的许多喜欢阅读的朋友一样)”可知,作者小时候喜欢漫画书是 因为他觉得它们很有趣。故选A项。 根据划线词所在句“While my access to comics as a child was limited to what was printed in the newspaper, this changed once I grew older and started visiting bookstores to buy the books that I wanted to read. Having grown up on a diet of image-heavy books, I found the idea of reading text-only novels quite formidable. (当我还 是个孩子的时候,我接触到的漫画仅限于报纸上印刷的内容,但当我长大后开始去书店买我想读的书时, 这种情况就改变了。由于我是看着满是图片的书长大的,所以我觉得只读文字的小说这个想法很 ______。)”以及后文“As I searched for books that lay somewhere in between, I came across a copy of Bhimayana ― a graphic novel.(当我在寻找介于两者之间的书籍时,我偶然发现了一本《Bhimayana》——一本图像小 说)”可知,作者从小接触的是满是图片的漫画书,所以当接触到只有文字的小说时,会觉得有些可怕或难 以接受,因此才会去寻找介于两者之间的图像小说。 根据第四段“Though I was impressed by the compelling (扣人心弦的) nature of storytelling in his book, I am not sure if I would have been able to visualize and enjoy his text-only version so much had I not read Sacco’s Palestine first. Thanks to the graphic novel, I had a ‘picture’ of whatever had happened, and that made it easier and more fun to understand the details of the overall story. (虽然我被他书中扣人心弦的故事讲述所吸引, 但如果我先没有读过Sacco的《Palestine》,我不确定我是否能够如此生动地想象并享受他的纯文本版本。 多亏了这本图像小说,我对所发生的事情有了“画面”,这让我更容易也更有趣地理解整个故事的细节)” 可知,作者认为读过Sacco的《Palestine》后,他能够更好地理解和享受Bloomfield的纯文本小说。故选B 项。 【11题详解】 主旨大意题。通读全文,特别是根据最后一段“From black and white strips and colorful comic books to illustrated graphic novels, this type of storytelling has come a long way. While my romance with comic books is still ongoing, in the long run, my love for graphic novels is more substantial and here to stay. (从黑白条幅、彩色漫画 书到插图图像小说,这种讲故事的方式已经走过了很长的路。虽然我对漫画书的热爱仍在继续,但从长远 来看,我对图像小说的热爱更加深厚,并将持续下去)”可知,文章主要讲述了作者为什么喜欢阅读图像小 说。故选B项。 D I love teaching, but from the stand at the front of the room it can be hard to tell if you're having any impact at all. Until one day, you get an email from a former student detailing the influence you had on their life. We tend to believe that others are watching us less, listening to us less, and generally paying less attention to us than they actually are. Psychologist Erica Boothby and her colleagues coined the term the “invisibility cloak illusion (隐身斗篷错觉)” t o describe the invisibility we often feel as we go about our daily lives. In one study, Boothby and her coauthors surveyed students who had been dining with others in a busy campus dining hall. They randomly (随机地) assigned students exiting the dining hall to different conditions. In one condition, the students were asked how much they found themselves noticing or observing the people around them in the dining hall (i.e., their behavior, manners and appearance), how curious they had been about the people around them, and the extent to which they had wondered what was going on inside the heads people around them. Students assigned to another condition were asked how much they thought the other people in the dining hall were noticing or observing them. Participants' ratings of how much they found themselves observing other people were more than 67 percent higher than participants' ratings of how much they thought other people were observing them. Despite the fact thateveryone is busy observing everyone else, we tend to think we are somehow more invisible than the people around us. This research drives away the wrong idea that in order to get someone to pay attention to you, you have to wave your hands around and shout. Ad executives may need to pull out all the stops in order to grab people's attention, but you don't. You already have it. You are a person, not an ad or a tweet, and people are wired to notice other people. More than that, they are wired to wonder what other people are thinking, and to adjust their own thoughts and behaviors accordingly. What this means is that you are quietly influencing the people around you all the time — without even trying, and often without realizing it. 12. What does the author intend to show by mentioning his experience? A. He dislikes working as a teacher. B. He knows little about his students. C. He fails to recognize his influence. D. He has no confidence in his teaching. 13. What did the study try to find out about the students? A. Ways they could attract people’s attention. B. Kinds of people they were more likely to notice. C. The degree they thought they were being observed. D. Reasons why they noticed some people more easily. 14. How do people adjust their own thoughts and behaviors according to the last paragraph? A. By observing other’s actions. B. By knowing their own feelings. C. By showing their own behaviors. D. By understanding others’ thoughts. 15. What does the text mainly talk about? A. People need to understand each other. B. People focus too much on themselves. C. People are easily influenced by others. D. People tend to ignore their own influence. C 13. C 14. D 15. 根据第一段第二句“Until one day, you get an email from a former student detailing the influence you had on their life. (直到某天你收到之前一位学生的电子邮件,详细描述了你对他们生活的影响。)”可知, 在此之前作者没能意识到他对他人的影响。故选C项。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段最后一句“Students assigned to another condition were asked how much they thoughtthe other people in the dining hall were noticing or observing them. (在另一种条件下,学生们被问及他们认为 餐厅里的其他人注意或观察他们的程度。)”可知,该研究的目的是研究学生们所认为的其他人观察他们的 程度。故选C项。 【14题详解】 细节理解题。根据最后段第四句“More than that, they are wired to wonder what other people are thinking, and to adjust their own thoughts and behaviors accordingly. E , Forget privacy young internet users want to be tracked On every smartphone there sits a tracker’s paradise (乐园) of location data ready to be shared. ____16____ And this tech is marketed as convenient, not frightening. What is an acceptable level of online surveillance (监视)? I had assumed we all agreed that the ideal was none. ____17____ A quick enquiry on my friends found that those who were, like me, in their 40s and older either had no idea they could use their phone in this way or had relatively little interest in doing so. But friends a decade or so younger all seem to be tracking one another at will. They don’t find the idea of monitoring or being monitored in this way upsetting. They say it makes them feel safer. ____18____ It is just that they are realistic about the privacy that is available. They know that if you own a smartphone and don’t want to disable useful things like maps, then your location is already being watched. If app creators, smartphone makers and ad companies are already tracking your location, then why not share the information with people you know? If you want to start tracking the people you know, then there are some rules involved. It’s fine to use tracking to check that a friend has got home safely at the end of a night out, for example, but not to surprise them on the street. And think carefully about whom you share data with. ____19____ Location tracking as a safety measure, particularly for elderly parents and children, is appealing. ____20____ Once you grow comfortable sharing your location with your family and friends, perhaps one day you’ll be happy to share it with your employer or even government agencies. A. It is for family and close friends only, not new dates.B. But the truth is how popular it is depends on your age. C. Location sharing has been around for more than a decade. D. The risk is that if you do it too often, it will be hard to turn around. E. After all, no one will find it comfortable to be watched all the time. F. This is not because they are blind to the importance of online privacy. G. Location tracking is so precise that it can locate one person in a crowd. G 17. B 18. F 19. A 20. 【16题详解】 根据上文“On every smartphone there sits a tracker’s paradise (乐园) of location data ready to be shared. (每部智 能手机上都有一个跟踪器的天堂,其中包含可供共享的位置数据。)”可知,本句应继续描述位置追踪的精 确性,G选项“Location tracking is so precise that it can locate one person in a crowd. (位置追踪非常精确,可 以在人群中定位一个人。)”符合语境。故选G。 【17题详解】 由上文“What is an acceptable level of online surveillance (监视)? I had assumed we all agreed that the ideal was none. (什么是可以接受的在线监控水平?我认为我们都同意理想的情况是没有监控。)”和下文“But friends a decade or so younger all seem to be tracking one another at will. They don’t find the idea of monitoring or being monitored in this way upsetting. They say it makes them feel safer.
