八、阅读理解

When I was a little girl, I loved to read books. My parents often took me to the library. I would spend hours
looking at the colorful pictures and reading the interesting stories. As I grew older, my love for books grew
stronger. I would often lose myself in the world of books, forgetting about everything around me. Sometimes, I
would even stay up late to finish a good book.
I remember one day, my teacher showed us a book about different countries. I was amazed by the pictures of
beautiful places and the stories of different cultures. From that day on, I dreamt of traveling around the world and
learning about different countries. I started to imagine what it would be like to visit those places, meet new people,
and try different foods. I would talk to my parents about my dreams, and they always encouraged me.
To make my dream come true, I started to learn English. I knew that English would help me communicate
with people from different countries. I also read more books about geography and history. These books made me
understand the world better. I would mark the places I wanted to visit on a big world map in my room. Every time I
learned something new, I would get more excited about my future travels.
Now, I’m working hard at school. I take part in different activities to improve my skills. I join the English
club to practice speaking English with my classmates. I also participate in geography competitions to test my
knowledge. I believe that if I keep working hard, I will be able to turn my interest in traveling into a career, maybe
as a tour guide or a travel writer. I’m looking forward to the day when I can explore the world and share my
experiences with others.
